I got a message from CareerBuilder this morning. They now claim to be a recruitment resource provider. You'd never know it by checking out their website. It looks much more like a classified ad service - as opposed to an HR company.

What do you think? Do you think there's any truth to the CareerBuilder claim? Are they still legitimate? Anyone know They definitely are not legit. The only thing that works is using Linkedin and a good referral partner who is a local recruiter/business owner. It doesn't seem fair for everyone else to waste their time reading through posts by the rest of the population who aren't members of their group. I read through it and there's a lot of very positive things said by some other people. I would agree with Chris though - there are some negative posts that make it seem like the group isn't exactly what it used to be (like the last couple of posts in the last month). It feels more like a business group now. But I did find some jobs - and I also found a few bogus referrals which took me to a site selling Viagra. (Not sure what happened there)

I just have to give credit where it is due, it appears you have some great business savvy and I appreciate your service. Careerbuilder has made some bad decisions recently. One of those being to hire a PR firm to write a blog about how many posts they get compared to the total number of users in the LinkedIn group. Now, it looks like they hired someone at HRJobs or Workforce Solutions to respond to their post and they posted the link to the HRJobs post. While I think it's a smart strategy to post this, there's nothing illegal about it. A person should be free to post something if they want.
