How do I stop notifications from Chrome?
Is there a way to disable the notifications popup?
I mean, when I click on the green button, a message popup pops up and I can't close it until I click on "Ok". I would like to prevent this from happening.
I've tried to search for this topic, but all I get is to disable them. There's no way to disable the pop up in the current version of Chrome (53.0.2785.101).
The latest version (55.2883.87) still has the same behaviour.
Note that you can change how many notifications are allowed by the settings in chrome://flags. The settings in chrome://flags may affect Chrome behaviour, so it is a good idea to make sure they match the version of Chrome you are running. Update your chrome to 55.101 or above or
If you want to disable popups for all extensions, try this in chrome://extensions/options/popup and popups options. There is a feature request here, which states it was implemented, but there is no way to disable it right now.
How do I turn off annoying notifications on Chrome Android?
Is there a way to turn off notifications on Chrome Android?
Not the app, not the notifications, just a single notification. Is there a setting for this? I'm not looking for an app, nor is there a way to disable "Notifications" from my phone settings. Just one single notification.
I tried looking through the settings, but I can't find any obvious setting for this. As far as I know there is no such setting in Chrome. I found an old thread here at chromium-a: @JFisher: Hi, I am on GOOGLE CHROMIUM for Android. Is there a way to control the pop-up/pop-down notifications without the popup menu bar at the top of the screen? (like the desktop version?). That was posted in 2025. In Google chrome android today you can disable all notifications at once by clicking the triangle next to your name. After that it's impossible to get any notification.
How do I get rid of Google notifications on Android?
If you don't know the answer to that, you're not alone.
Google has introduced the ability for third-party apps to offer notifications to users who have opted in to receive them. This makes it possible for apps to display notifications in a manner that makes it easy for the user to dismiss them.
Unfortunately, the way this was implemented is by allowing the developer of the app to decide what actions on the device the notification will trigger. This can lead to some odd situations, like seeing an email notification when your phone is locked. While there is no way to avoid these situations, you can disable notifications for any app or even the entire Android platform. Let's take a look at how to do this.
How to disable notifications for any app on Android. The first thing you need to do is to open up the app you wish to disable notifications. On most devices, this can be done by opening the app's main screen, selecting Notifications, and clicking on Settings.
In the dialog box that opens, you will see a section for Notifications. You can also select which apps should be allowed to send notifications. The system defaults are checked, meaning that all apps should be able to send notifications.
If you want to restrict what notifications can be sent by an app, you need to go into the app's settings for the app. On an Android device running Android 7.0 or higher, this can be done by going into the app's settings. If you are running an older version of Android, you will need to tap the app's icon in the app drawer, select App info, and tap Notification.
Once there, you will be able to see which apps can send notifications. For the most part, this works. But it doesn't work for every app, especially third-party ones.
One of the problems is that Google doesn't provide information on which apps use its Notification API. I took a look at the current list of Android apps that use the Notification API.
