What is a Time Timer mod?

(Part 1)

Time Modifications are a feature in Final Fantasy Tactics A2. In this article we'll talk about everything you need to know in regards to time and modify the in-game time. It is a mod that will enable or disable the timing of the action and even changes it's duration in real-time. But before anything we also want to give an idea on how the real-time works and if you want to play more than one real-time player at a time.

What Is Real-Time? Before we get into talking about the features in-game and how to set them up, let us first explain what a real-time means and what different variations there might be to it: Real Time Player (RTP): is a person who plays with a timer turned on. You can have as many RTPs in Final Fantasy Tactics A2 as you like and you can play all of them at once. RTPs will not know about other timers in the game at the moment, since they are not affected by mods, however, you should note that RTPs will stop playing when everyone else has stopped playing, therefore it's important that you have enough RTPs and enough time to cover the entire game since, the only limitation to playing time will be the number of players available to play against.

Global Timer (GTP): This is one of the most commonly used timers in games and it is where the real-time mod comes from. It will allow the players to turn of their current timer completely by pressing A, and all timers will start playing simultaneously. While Global Timers will be the only players who have a consistent time. They cannot stop in real-time or have different times for themselves compared to the rest of the game.

How To Turn On & Off RTP. There are two ways that you can set the timing of the in-game time (real-time). Global Timer Set-Up: It may seem tedious to play with global timers and a time mod but the fact of the matter is, there are two key times that you will need to make sure of: 1. The time before the battle starts, and 2. The time after the battle ends. Each of these is an important variable to consider for good game play and if you miss either of those, it will not be pretty.

Is Time Timer free?

I have installed Tivoli Time Server 12.

0.5.7 on 2 HP ProLiant ML350 G5 servers and they are both in the 'Time Scheduler' tab on the 'Time Timer' page of the Web GUI. It says that time is synchronized but I want to be sure. Is it free or is it limited by a fee like in other products? Thank you very much in advance!

Hi, thanks for your answer (it's so good because in French i'm still able to read you).But my doubts were about two specific points: First, in order to use time server for Time Scheduler you need first Timer (no TTP) I know that only TTP should work in time server but it seems that you don't need it. In fact the time service from HP says: "Using TTP 1.00, you can synchronize time with any external or internal system. To do this, use the Time Scheduler wizard. If you have several servers with different times, you need to synchronize each of them independently with TTP".

Second, on another post you said:"No - unless you are using TTP version 1. In this version, HP has provided some enhancements that allow Time Server to support external scheduling using either RFC 486 time servers or time pools".

So, I have not a doubt after these statements: Time Servers use TTP and work properly with TTP version 1. Time servers use TTP version 1.00

But why in one post () you say the following, in the first sentence of the paragraph"In order to use time server for Time Scheduler you need first Timer"? Is there a Time Server for both Time and Time Scheduler? I don't want it. What I want to do is to syncronize both times with the same time and I want to use only TTP.

Are timers good for ADHD?

Hi all - I am going to have a meeting with my doctor next week for evaluation of ADD/ ADHD.

My doctor mentioned, and his opinion is that having a timer device at home can be very helpful for ADHD. For the kids who get hyperactive, it seems they might not understand how to use one.but can a kid not be taught to use one.

My daughter has some of the symptoms, but no diagnosis yet, and I was just wondering if anyone has experience with timers. She is a senior in high school, but when she gets home from school, she gets very frustrated if there is nothing to do for awhile - and then I'm wondering what her next steps should be.

It really depends on the child with ADD (or ADHD) as to the type of device that is best. Usually timers are used to help the person with ADD/ADHD focus better on something to do. It is also a good tool to help the child with ADD/ADHD to understand what it is the teacher wants from them. When they say "sit down" and you see the light go off on the timer, it is an indication to the child that it is time to be quiet, focused, and pay attention to what the teacher wants you to do next. Teachers need to understand what devices, like timers, are used to teach the child with ADD/ADHD.

I would never encourage anyone to buy timers for their child. I think for a child to be able to focus it is best to keep the environment quiet and still. In fact, for the most part, we find it difficult to learn to sit and focus in noisy environments. I would not want to give the impression that I want you to use timers for your child, rather just teaching the child that when the lights go off, that it is time to be quiet and focus on what the teacher wants to do. The key is to work with the child and know what works for him/her.

I was actually diagnosed as having ADD/ADHD when I was in elementary school. It was helpful for me to have a timer and an electric clock to go off as a cue to get my self in a better state to listen to the teacher. For example, if a parent asks me for something at 9am, I can't give it to them unless I am not hungry, which is not a good idea.
