What is the Flixster app used for?

We've covered a lot of uses for the Flixster app, but we can't forget what it was designed for in the first place.

The Flixster app is a social network for movie and TV buffs, enabling you to track your movie and TV obsessions and discover new shows and movies through the use of our unique recommendation engine. You can keep track of your top picks, and if you share them with other Flixsters, you can make your friends obsessed too.

This section contains information that's useful for Flixster users, but may not be relevant to other apps in the app store. How do I find movies and shows? The recommended movies, TV shows, and movies are listed on your home screen. From there, tap on the item to view more details and the option to purchase or rent.

When browsing the App Store, you'll notice that there are new movies and TV shows listed on the bottom of the page every day. What's a Favorited Show? When you return to the show's page, you'll notice that you'll see only the shows that you have Favorited, unless you tap on the "See All" button to see the rest of the shows available. You can search by a number of different filters, including genre, title, release date, country, or rating, and once you've located a movie or show you're interested in, you can tap on the price to purchase or rent it. You can also browse our collection of "Top Picks", which we curate based on the information we collect about you and your favorite movies and shows. Do I have to pay anything to watch movies? You can watch many free movies using Flixster, but some movies are only available to rent and you'll need to purchase them or rent them for an additional fee. How do I login to Flixster?

Select the Login button on your Flixster account dashboard, and fill in the required information to access your account.

What if I don't know my login information? If you can't remember your Flixster login information, you can try using a different email address and password. We do not store your personal information, and will never use it for any other purpose than that for which it was originally provided by you.

How do I know what movies are available to watch? To see what movies are available, go to My Movies > Movie Page. You can add new movies to your queue, check out movies currently available to watch, or even cancel your movie queue.

Where are the Flixster logos? On Flixster, we replace the red circle and globe with icons that represent the major categories of your account. What is Flixster TV? Flixster TV is an integrated channel on your Flixster account that allows you to find movies similar to the ones you've already watched or recommend movies to your friends. You can get a preview of upcoming movies based on your interest and choose the movies you want to watch.

How can I get rid of the red circle in my Flixster dashboard? You're seeing the red circle because there are no movies in your queue. You should have at least one movie in your queue before seeing the circle appear. If you don't, please see our FAQs for more info about this issue.

How do I choose a Movie? Choose the first movie from the alphabetical list when viewing the Movie Page. What if I want to watch a specific genre or rating? When viewing the Movie Page, Flixster enables you to search for specific genres and ratings of movies. If I get the wrong movie, what can I do? If you haven't seen the movie you think you are watching, try using Flixster TV to find it. If that doesn't work, you can always download the file to your computer and open it on another platform like iTunes.

How do I know if I'm logged in? Your Flixster logo in the upper right-hand corner of your screen will be blue when you're logged in.

What is the meaning of Flixster?

The name Flixster is inspired by the Latin word fluctus, which means to twirl or dance.

The Flixster logo itself looks like a twirling circle. It is the perfect image to describe the way people meet movies through Flixster, because you can always watch something new, exciting, and different with Flixster.

How do I change my Flixster display name? To change your display name, you need to sign into your Flixster account. Then click on the Profile icon and click on the Edit Profile button. In this window, enter your new name and click the Save button. You're done!

How do I create a Flixster group? To create a Flixster group, you need to log into your Flixster account, and then click on the Groups icon. Then, click on the Create Group button. In this window, enter the group name and select who will be invited to join your group. If you're the only member of your group, you don't need to invite other people. But if there are several members, you'll need to invite other people to join. You can also choose if the group is public or private.

What is a Flixster account? Flixster is a free social network service that is designed to help people find new movies, TV shows, and other things to watch. To use Flixster, you need a Flixster account. Your Flixster account gives you access to several features including the Flixster mobile app.

Why do I get an error message while using Flixster? This error message usually appears when you try to sign into Flixster but you haven't received an invitation to join. To join a group, click on the Groups icon and then click on the Create Group button. After you've joined the group, you will be able to log in again.

I have forgotten my password. How do I reset it? To reset your Flixster password, you need to sign into your Flixster account.
