What does Flixster do?

Why is it free? Flixster is free because we want to offer access to movies and TV shows to people who may not have a credit card, and make money from people renting movies. The Flixster merchants (who sell the movies and TV series) pay us to use the Flixster platform to sell their movies and TV series.

Who is Flixster? Flixster is part of Mindshare. Mindshare is a leading global multi-channel media company specialising in the entertainment industry. Our clients include Warner Bros., Universal Pictures, MGM, Disney, BBC Worldwide and Sony.

How do I choose the video I want to rent? You need to choose the video you want to rent from your favourite movies or TV shows. To choose a movie, tap on the movie title. For a TV show, tap on the show title. Choose "My Movie Library" or "Favourites" to add the movie to your personal library. This will be the only option available. Alternatively, you can share your entire movie library to Flixster from the main screen, and then you can choose your favourite movies to rent.

Can I watch all my rented movies at once? Yes, as long as you have space on your phone's internal storage. We recommend that you have no more than 1GB of free space.

Can I watch movies and TV series outside of the UK? Yes, in most cases. Please note that the rental window begins when the movie or TV series is available in the UK.

How to stop getting notifications

I've been a regular user of Flixter since the first day I joined in 2024, but I've just noticed that no longer do I get notifications when there's something new posted on the forums.

, or is it just me? This has been a big hit for me as I have my work and personal Flixter accounts, and not getting notifications means I'm not being kept in the loop when it comes to stuff going on with other members. It's a bit irritating because it's such a nice site to use (I would never have thought of using it otherwise, I'm so bad at tech) and it's now very much an integral part of how I watch films. Any answers are appreciated. EDIT: After all this time, I guess it's safe to say Flixter is officially dead. The new logo and design look exactly like every other Flixter site out there.

As much as I love flixter it was designed as a social media site not a film forum. There is not much to do when you sign up for flixter except watch films. There are only two options to interact with other people through flixter. 1) Posting a comment or 2) Posting a youtube video. There is a reason why I like Twitter better than flixter. If I need to get in touch with someone I don't have to open a profile, I can just tweet them. If I want to watch a movie on flixter I'll open up a profile and then watch it. That's what I've done all along but I know that other people prefer different methods. I am a casual user who sometimes enjoys a good read while watching a movie. I also sometimes like to get in touch with other people through twitter but it's not hard to do it directly through their profiles.

It seems to me that flixter has always been geared toward people who would rather get in touch with people through social media instead of having a direct line of communication with someone via the internet. It doesn't really have much to do with film for the most part and that's what the site was set up for.

Why was Flixster removed from Android?

I don't want to ask what Flixster was, because that is for others to say.

But what is the reason of Flixster being removed from Android? It seems like it was a good movie-watching app, and there are probably many people who had used it in the past. When Google decides to remove an application from the Play Store, it is usually because that application violates one of the Google Play policy. In this case, Flixster used the API that is not intended for third party applications to use.

From the Play Policy section 6.1.5:

The Play Console may delete your account or any content associated with your account if you're found to be using features intended for apps on the Google Play Developer APIs to develop other apps (like streaming movies or TV shows) or if you're found to be using features intended for games on the Google Play Games services to make any other game. If your account is removed for these reasons, any content you created on your account will be removed as well.

Is Flixster still working?

I would like to see it. Yes, Flixster is still working. We have received some new users recently and have been working on a few improvements here and there. It's not quite up to where it was but we're making steady progress.

Flixster is the best way to discover what movies you want to see. Whether it is in theater, on TV, or DVD, you can find the movie you want at the price you want. And unlike other movie search engines, our site is not crowded with ads. That's why we've attracted thousands of members around the world.

We're in the process of adding new features. For example, you'll be able to browse movie trailers and plot summaries for free (paid members get even more detailed info). We are also developing tools that will help you manage your movie watching experience, and a new app will help you share what you see with friends and family.

I'd be willing to contribute to Flixster if I knew exactly what I was doing. The only thing I know of is that I had to download the iPhone app and they had a free trial period. When it expires, I have to pay. If I don't pay, then I lose my access to the app and Flixster.

I'd like to use it more, but I'm afraid that I don't have any idea what I'm doing. I just have no clue. I thought I did but I don't. I've tried watching a couple of movies but I don't know how to really use the iPhone app. I just look at it and see a lot of buttons and stuff and I'm not sure what any of them do.

As I said, I don't have any idea how to use it and I'd really like to use it. But I'm afraid to use it.

I feel your pain! I don't have an iPhone either so I have no idea what's going on in there. However, I've been using Flixster since April, so you should be ok. I think the only problem you'll have is getting used to the iPhone's interface.

And, as for making money, I have no idea how that works.
