Does Flixster cost money?

I want to try out Flixster for a few days and was wondering if I would be able to get a free membership or if I would have to pay money.

It looks like it might be free, but if I don't get a free membership will I be able to download the movies and watch them at no cost? Flixster costs money, you can download the movies for free, but you won't be able to view them online, as it is designed for mobile devices. You could download the movies to your computer and view them on a regular TV, but you won't be able to watch them online.

I am an avid user of Flixster. I have used it several times in the past year to view and download movies for free. If you are interested in seeing a particular movie, I would suggest going to the website, and then clicking on the movie you want to watch.

The website has been extremely helpful for me, as I can look up movies by director, actors, or even a specific scene, and then I can click on the movie title and go right to it.95 per month, but I believe that is a promotional rate, so if you sign up now, you will get the promotional rate.

I used it for the first time last week, and it was free. They offer a free trial so you can give it a try and see if you like it. You cancel any time during the trial period.

I was looking for something like this. I would like to see what movies are new and available for free. I downloaded some movies and can't wait to watch them on my big screen. I tried Flixster and it seems to be working fine for me. I'll let you know how it works out.

They do charge. If you can't download them you can't watch them, which is why I like it. If it's not there when you want it, you can download it. The price is reasonable.

If you're going to be using it regularly, I'd suggest signing up for a yearly plan. That way you can start watching movies immediately.

Why is Flixster app shutting down?

Flixster has been a key part of our media recommendation engine, helping users discover and share great content in every genre on TV, online and on mobile.

We're incredibly proud of the platform, which is why we're sad to see Flixster go. Today, we're announcing that Flixster will shut down on May 23rd, 2025.

What happened? As many of you may know, we're no strangers to changing our minds about what to do next with Flixster. At first, we planned to relaunch as a standalone movie app, but when we realized our app was performing better with TV shows, we pivoted back to that. But we couldn't ignore the fact that Flixster was not performing well in mobile apps. By the end of 2025, we had too many versions of Flixster. We knew that the user experience was still sub-par and it needed to be updated.

The decision to shut down Flixster was an easy one for us to make, but it was a difficult one to announce. Flixster has always been about helping people find great content, and we're thrilled to see it still working hard to do so today.

Our team will stay at the company, and continue to work on our other projects. Why isn't Flixster going away forever? We have a lot of big ideas in the works. So many of you have told us how much you love these ideas. It's true, Flixster will stay around for now, but we hope that you will join us in building something new and innovative.

What happened to Flixster video?

The Flixster video has been removed from the site for the following reasons: 1) There is no way to guarantee that a Flixster video is the official release of the movie. 2) Because we are a web site and not a DVD or online store, we are not in a position to confirm the quality of the Flixster video. We can only verify the quality of the video on your screen.

3) Flixster has a very small number of videos, and these videos are often released before the DVD. 4) Flixster has a great number of videos, many of which are not released on DVD or Blu-ray. 5) Flixster is constantly adding new movies to their library, and it is impossible to keep up with all the movies they release. The Flixster video does not replace the Flixster DVD. Please note that Flixster is not responsible for any losses you may incur as a result of the use of this video.

Is Flixster still in business?

I was using it for a while, then it came back from the dead and just as quickly died.

I don't know if I can count on Flixster for anything.

Flixster hasn't been in business for quite a while, but we're continuing to grow the audience for free on the web. We were bought by Netflix in 2025, and we still run the site independently in order to continue to be able to offer our current feature set and audience to our users.
