How do I locate my iPhone?

How do I use Find My iPhone for another phone?

Find My iPhone automatically works when you use Find My Friends on another iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

The Apple ID and PIN set up on the current device is used on the Find My iPhone app, and it works without a problem. It just has to be set up on the other device as well. It's also available for iOS 7 and above. If you have a Find My Friends account and your device is lost, then you will want to reset your Apple ID and PIN to get back in. Go into Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone and tap the "Forgot your password?" button, it's that easy.

If your device is stolen and there is no Find My Friends option, you can go into Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone > Lost Mode. You can sign in with the same Apple ID as the account and your PIN, but you will have to set up a new security question on your own.

How do I restore my phone? When restoring, make sure you have connected to WiFi and then go to Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone. There should be an option to sync with iTunes. From here, follow the instructions for restoring your phone. You will want to connect the phone to a charger and the original data cable. This will make sure that your data is transferred. Restoring from iCloud is similar, just with another option to select. As long as you are using the data cable, the data should transfer and your phone will be restored. If you lose the data cable, you may have to resort to restoring using iTunes, although you will need to take the backup again. To restore, go into iTunes and your Mac. It will show up as an iPod touch under Devices in the sidebar. Right click on it to see all options. At the bottom of the sidebar you will see Restore, it is that simple.

You can use the iTunes backup when restoring your iPhone. Note: If your restore fails at the iTunes restore, or if the phone gets stuck during the iTunes restore, you can try re-installing iOS as a last resort. Your phone won't run without iOS.

What happens when I use Find My iPhone? After you use Find My iPhone, your friend's device will get a notification that someone else is looking for their device. This feature works over Wi-Fi or cellular data connections.
