Why is my Play Store app not downloading?

How do I get my Play Store back?

(No, I don't care about my settings and accounts!)

(No, I don't care about my settings and accounts!). If the app had a bug that crashed your phone or prevented you from using the app properly, then it would be wise to just get the Play Store version back. If you are having stability issues with your ROM, or if it is an update that is causing issues, then you need to figure out how to resolve these issues. Either by updating or going to a custom ROM. If this does not work, it may be time to go back to stock ROMs until they are able to provide an update that does not cause issues. It may not be your ROM that is causing the problem, but your phone that is the issue.

Now in regards to your Play Store you have two options. Uninstall the application. Since you said you don't want to lose your account information you will want to make sure you can transfer your data to a new device.

Copy your data to the cloud. The only thing you will lose is your account. You should be able to create a new account on your new device.

How do I download Google Play Store?

We have just downloaded the Google Play Store and installed it.

When I tried to open it to select apps, it came up saying "Sorry, "Play Store" can't be found." I don't want to download anything else, but I have no idea how to. Help?

Thanks for your Reply! 7 Replies. So I installed the Play Store onto my phone and connected to the internet. The "Play Store" did not appear when I connected to the internet. However, I go to www.google.com/playstore/ and it appears there. Does that mean that the Play Store is on my phone? And if so, can you please tell me how to install apps to it or get it to connect to the internet so that it'll appear on the screen? Thanks! Share this:?

It does mean the store is installed. The "google play" button is a shortcut for the store, and it's on the home screen.

How do I update apps without Play Store?

For a number of years now, Google has been providing a way to update apps on some devices without having to update through the Play Store, however it is not entirely clear how this works.

Some manufacturers have made it difficult for end users to find this option, so that Google updates may never be discovered. We are here to make sure you don't miss out on any of the Google Android updates.

There are a few devices that allow you to get updates outside of the Play Store: Fingerprint scanner on Samsung Galaxy S9. Fingerprint scanner on OnePlus 6. Face unlock on OnePlus 7 Pro. Face unlock on Samsung Galaxy S10. Face unlock on Motorola Moto Z4. So how do you know if your device supports updates outside of the Play Store? The easiest way is to look up the device's name on the Google Devices database. Here you will find a tab that will list which devices are currently supported, and which are not.

If your device does not show up, there is no reason to worry. There is no need to panic or feel bad about it. While this may seem to be a good thing, it's actually a bad thing. You should not be able to get updates for your device unless they are being delivered by the official channel. Your device will only receive updates through the Play Store.

Is there any way to force it to connect to the Play Store? No, unfortunately there is not. Google will block any attempt at forcing the device to connect to the Play Store, unless you are an OEM partner.

If you were an OEM partner, then you would have been given access to special keys that could have been used to force the device to connect to the Play Store. These keys were removed from all OEMs in late 2025, so they are no longer available.

What does it mean if the device is connected to the Play Store? With most devices, Google will send updates over Wi-Fi.e. This usually means that you will not be able to access the device when an update is being downloaded. You will also have a red notification icon on the device. This is telling you that there is a new update waiting for you.

You can still use the device normally, even if an update is being downloaded.

Why is my Play Store app not downloading?

If you try to download an app from Google Play that you've downloaded or tried on another device, you'll likely be met with the following message: Failed to download resource for xxxx.

How do you fix this? The most common issue with this is that your device needs to have the latest security software installed. This could be the result of a new update from your device manufacturer. A more serious case would be if your phone has malware or spyware installed.

In this scenario, you would need to update your security software as well as remove any spyware and malware from your system. In cases where the issue remains unresolved after you've updated the security software and performed a clean reinstallation of your OS, you may need to report the problem to your mobile network provider to obtain a temporary access reset.

Here's how you check whether you've got security software running properly or not on your device. If your device doesn't run Android 6.0, press the 'Home' button from the bottom of your screen, and then scroll up to open your notification shade.

Scroll through until you see an icon representing Android Device Manager. Tap on it to enter the device manager.

Scroll down, look for 'Device security', and make sure the icon for device security shows up green in colour. If it shows red, this is the reason your device can't download apps.

How to fix the Play Store app update. In the event that you've experienced a failed update, there are some ways to get your updates working again. The first thing you need to do is install the app 'Play Store Offline' (this option isn't available in the Play Store App Store) Launch the Play Store offline (instructions below). Go to the option in the top right hand corner to manage your accounts, and select: My Account > Manage app data > clear all data for the Google play Store App.

The second step is to turn off your device entirely. Once you've done that, go back to the app manager and enable your device to download apps normally again.
