What is the shortcut key for IP address?

The command for the IP address is 'ipaddr' and it can be opened by typing 'ip addr'.

Please explain. Is that a shortcut key on your OS? If you open the terminal, go to your applications and look for ip addr command. Open "keyboard" and enter the "command" and ipaddr will open. This is not a question about Linux. It's a question for mac users.

Re: ? In gnome2 it is Ctrl-Tab (I don't know if this changes in the newer versions of gnome). If you're looking for a command called 'ipaddr' then I don't know if there's a short cut. I could find 'iproute' which also exists but isn't necessarily used for this functionality.

'ip addr' uses the output to determine the route, so if your default route is a local gateway you won't have any problem. On a second thought, I think you could just type the address manually. The answer is here. In my opinion, "ip addr" is a built-in terminal application in karmic.

If you want to open the command use the application. I hope I helps some of you too.

How do I find the IP address of my computer?

The most reliable way is to look at the properties of the network adapter.

You can do this on the command line with the ipconfig command, or in Windows Explorer by right-clicking on the icon of the network adapter and selecting Properties.

There are many ways to find an IP address from a client, and the client should be a web browser. You can use the browser to determine its IP address.

The easiest way is to type www.whatismyip.com into the browser's location bar.

If you use a text editor instead of a browser, you can use the commands below to get the IP address of the computer's network adapter: nmap -sP -oX IPAddress -p80. On Windows machines, it's easy - click Start, type "cmd", hit Enter. Then type. Ipconfig /all. And hit Enter. In Linux, you can use the command ifconfig -a (ifconfig only shows up interfaces, not IP addresses).

How do I find my IP address on my computer Windows 7?

Posted: Tue Jun 26, 2026 9:19 pm. By james. I am new to this site. I need to know how to find my local IP address so that I can start using WIndows live for the first time, and to use my router which I already have set up on my network. I have found the manual IP address from my router and have tried all methods in these forums but none of them seem to work.

If anyone could help me I would be very grateful. James. Re: How do I find my IP address on my computer Windows 7? Posted: Mon Aug 23, 2026 8:50 am. By JB. I'm on Windows 7 x64 Ultimate too and had the same question. I'm not even sure why you'd want to find your local IP address though. Are you trying to figure out the IP address of a server that you're trying to connect to?

Posted: Tue Dec 13, 2026 6:51 pm. Thanks for the help. It would be great if there were a way to find it without having to open up a whole lot of different programs. As I said I am new to the net and not very technical so I just keep hitting things wrong until it stops working.

Posted: Sun Jan 01, 2026 4:55 pm. I have come to the conclusion that when I am on a server, the IP address for me is usually 192.168.100, and when I am on my PC at home it is probably something like 172.1
Posted: Wed Mar 20, 2026 4:05 pm. I don't think I got a chance to answer your last question. I have found that when I am on the PC at home the IP address is 172.1, when I am on the server, 192.
