How do I use my MacBook as a hotspot?
I would like to use my MacBook as a hotspot and share it over my local network with my iPhone.
How do I do this? You have a couple options on the Mac. First, you can install AirPort Utility and manage your network settings from your mac. I know you can use Mobile Safari to surf the web but I don't know if you can browse pages with it using the public IP address.
Open AirPort Utility. Click "Connect To". Choose your computer name, and your username and password. Click on Connect.
Click on your wireless network and you should see the same connections that you would see in a normal connection to your home network. If you click on an individual connection you can see the IP address associated with it.
How to share Wi-Fi to macbook?
If I connect my desktop with wifi to internet it gets internet, but if I connect my macbook with wifi to internet and then I connect my macbook with wi-fi to desktop it doesn't get internet ,how can I solve this problem?
please help me. It is your duty to make sure that the desktop computer is on the same wifi network as the macbook. From the macbook: Connect your Macbook to the wireless network of your choice. Click on the wireless icon on the top left corner of your Macbook's screen. Click on the "Join a new network" link. Enter the network name of the wifi network you want to join, and select the authentication type (either WEP or WPA-PSK) you want to use. Click on the join button. The desktop computer will have an option to connect to this same wifi network and if everything works fine it will automatically connect and you can access the internet from your desktop. You need to set up a bridge on the desktop to be able to share a WiFi connection from a Macbook. Basically, you need to set up a wifi adapter in a machine, configure the MAC address as the WiFi router, and connect to the other machine to connect to that network. This article has details about it.
How do I turn my iPhone into a hotspot for my Macbook?
I have a Macbook Pro and an iPhone 4.
I would like to turn my iPhone into a wireless hotspot so that I can connect to my laptop without using any kind of cable. Is this possible? I have read many threads about this, but none seem to be for an iPhone.
You can use the iPhone as a WiFi access point. Just follow these steps: Open the Settings app on your iPhone. Select Network. Turn on Wi-Fi.e. Turn on Mobile Hotspot. If you have an iPod touch, it will already have this set up. Open the Settings app on your iPod. Select Wi-Fi.e. For an iPhone or iPod touch, just go into the iPhone app, select Network, and turn on Wi-Fi.e. For an iPad, go to Settings > Wi-Fi > Mobile Data. Turn on Wi-Fi and turn on Mobile Data.
