We checked the accuracy of Indeed estimates using both independent data providers, as well as our own internal data, and found that: In the vast majority of cases, job estimates provided by Indeed correlate closely with salary estimates provided by a data provider. Our salary survey data correlates better than we would expect randomly (ie, the results aren't much worse than if were able to guess salaries based only on data). Indeed's salaries correlate closer to our own internal estimates than to external estimates, even when we consider only the best-paid offers. When indeed.com salary estimates do not match up with any other data source, it is usually because the job isn't currently advertised on Indeed or the company's website.
If you know a job is advertised somewhere else, but it isn't on Indeed, you can ask Indeed to check their employer's list for salary estimates; they can do so without knowing anything about you or your resume. In our experience, jobs advertised on LinkedIn tend to have more accurate salary estimates, since that is a job board, which generally lists all offers. However, any job you see listed on Indeed will be verified by an Indeed representative. Indeed does not pay employers to list jobs on their website, and we can't confirm the salaries of jobs unless you make a special request to us.com and Salary.com are two of the most popular sources of job listings, but they can also vary in their levels of accuracy. Sometimes one data source does a better job of estimating salaries for one type of role and another for a different type, or for a different job title within the same field. Indeed's data can often be used as a reliable estimate of what someone will earn in general - as long as they are in the correct industry and location - which can be useful, or you can find out specific information about a job like average salary for a certain role using search queries.

Glassdoor also offers a Talent Solution service that provides HR teams with data that will help them improve the performance of their organization. As Glassdoor says on its website, the average recruiters and hiring managers that use its services have saved 25 hours per week. While many recruiters and HR managers report that Glassdoor saves them between 10 and 50 hours per week, others are not so sure. On both Glassdoor and Indeed, jobs can be broken down into job function categories. Job title, salary range, and benefits information are available, though often this information is not provided in good quality on the site. Many job postings appear on Glassdoor but not Indeed, although some Indeed postings are posted to Glassdoor first. The key question is: how can I determine which listings on Glassdoor are the same as job listings on Indeed, thus saving me from duplicates?
Step 1: The Way to Do This Is: Job Titles. Before we get into the specifics of job titles, let's discuss what they are and when you want them. The primary purpose of job titles on every one of your job listing sites is to communicate relevant content that should be communicated to a recruiter. Therefore, what job titles would you consider to be appropriate for a marketing copywriter job on Glassdoor?
The first thing that a recruiter wants to know about a marketing copywriter job is what skills or abilities are being developed? For instance, Account management/customer service is certainly far more specific than Marketing Communications Writer. If the job title lists skills or abilities instead of just generic job responsibilities, then that could be a signal that it's really just a job description and not a job posting at all. Additionally, a title with only generic job responsibilities tells the recruiter next to nothing, but it does mean that you have much more flexibility in job description formatting since you need only a few words or phrases to identify the key responsibilities of the position. Finally, you may have many job postings at different pay rates with the same job responsibilities on the title so they are the same job on Indeed, but not the same job on Glassdoor.
For these reasons, make sure the title of every job you list on Glassdoor also shows up on the job title page of the job posting. Likewise, the job title page on Indeed should show all job postings with the same job. Once all job postings from all job listing sites are matched between job titles on each site, you can start your search for duplicate postings.
