I just bought an HDTV off ebay and am trying to install the Google family link in my new TV. There was one guy I talked to who said he had the exact same model and his didn't work on his tv. So I hope it works as advertised on my unit, but am concerned that it won't work because of that.
If you follow the instructions for google family link setup and there are no errors message then it should work on all Samsung models that support the DVR standard. It doesn't matter if your TV supports HD viewing or not. If you have a dual tuner TV I would assume that you don't even need to hookup a DVD player with external source. If this was my set up, I would hookup the satellite directly to the receiver which supports google family link.
Just to add one of these threads has a user who got this thing to work. He used Google Music via his PS3 connected to the Google HDLink using USB 2.0
He also stated that his Samsung had a problem with the USB 2.0 port on his Sony TV and that Sony never released a firmware fix for it.
Not really sure what people are complaining about. The DVR standard was designed to allow a single box to provide a digital output from a set of sources. A PC could be hooked up to the DVR so as to control this connection in software. I think any DVR compliant device would work but some Samsungs may not have the USB support (USB is a protocol so it would depend on how well the TV supports it). I think it may not be supported by Samsung's internal network either but as you can see I havn't checked. I've only seen a few complaints, perhaps the few people who tried google music have reported working.
In my experience, if a device does work one set of Samsung TVs, it will work on others. I tested every TV in my house and they all worked.
Why is Family Link not working on my phone?
The Family Link is a great way for families to stay connected.
It allows you to stay in touch with your children's school while they are away. You can even keep in touch with your schools while you are away, too.
We have made some improvements in this new system to make it easier for families to use. If you continue to have trouble using the Family Link, please contact the family portal customer service team at 1-800-827-6648.
Here's what you need to do to get started: Add your child to the Family Link portal. You can find the portal by logging into familylink.nwsd.net. Please remember to give your child a personal user name and password.
Log in. The first time you log in, you will be asked to enter your email address and provide a name. You will also be asked to sign up for text messages. That's optional.
Add your address. You may already be registered on the Family Link, but if you aren't, follow the prompts to add your current home address. We'll send a temporary code that will allow you to log in from a computer. You'll need to sign up for your mailing address when it's time to change your physical address.
Log out. Now you're ready to go. Log back in and you'll be presented with several options for accessing the Family Link portal from your phone. Call us

Can I unlock my child's screen lock through Family Link?
How ?
I have had the same concern, what with my two and three year olds at my side constantly and a little tricky to manage. I am unable to find a way to do this. Any help would be very much appreciated.

May 12, 2026 13:35:49 PDT. By klkim. I have a 3-yr old boy in tow, but the screens (3 of them) we're tied together, not a single person can have access to more than one screen at a time - that's how I'm locked in on them.
May 12, 2026 22:24:59 PDT. By mrswade99. Sorry, don't believe we have a feature for your situation but will send you an email. Thanks Hello, thank you for the feedback. We would also like to point out to you that when the "shared devices" link is open, it indicates that any logged in user has access to "All Devices". I hope that is useful to your inquiry. If not, you can email me at support@familylink.com

May 13, 2026 02:30:44 PDT. Thank you for replying and thank you for pointing out the link that indicated this too. It doesn't seem to help in our situation though, and I was thinking the "Manage Devices" link in "Manage Linked Devices" might be the answer, but it doesn't seem that either. This really is frustrating.
May 13, 2026 04:36:21 PDT. Have a good evening! I'm very sorry that this doesn't help and will take your suggestions onboard into my next check. I'm sorry that it's not working for you.
Hi! I apologize about the delay in getting back to you, it was not on purpose. What I can provide to you to explain what this situation is - I have three kids, in a nutshell, who have their own phones. We have an iPad and iPad mini that they are attached to the account on.
How to access Family Link parent access code?
I am new to Family Link and trying to sign up for it.
I have registered for it through my mobile number and receive a confirmation code. I want to know how to access the parent access code and get into my child's account. My child is currently in the primary account and I am trying to access the child's account.
Go to the FamilyLink website and log in. Then go to My Account. You'll see your own account and if you have children, their accounts as well.
