Is the Hasbro Smart r2d2 app discontinued?

We know the app was free for a while and a lot of us wanted it back as the app didn't do anything useful and we have heard that the developer discontinued the app due to lack of interest.

I think they should just offer the movie again or start charging something, because this app hasn't been updated in a year which makes it completely useless. If they would just add a movie mode to it, it would be the best version of it yet! But sadly this isn't the case so you are left with an outdated app.

I really miss smart r2d2, I even got a refund from Hasbro for not supporting the app. So sad the developer quit.

What happened to the r2d2 Sphero app?

It's been a while since I updated the Droid Sphero app, but I did have it working in my Droid X.

I just installed it on my Droid Pro and it doesn't seem to work at all. When I hold the phone up and talk into the mic, it shows the light blinking, and the app says it's talking. But when I say a phrase, nothing happens.

I've tried it with and without a bluetooth headset. I've tried restarting the app, the phone, and rebooting. I've tried reinstalling it. Nothing works.

Have you seen a recent update to the app? I'm on 4.1.2 and it was working fine.

Also, I haven't seen any updates to the app in a while, but if there is, I think I would be seeing an "Update" button on my device. That's probably what I'm seeing, but there's no update button. I'm currently on 4.2 too, but I don't have an update button either. I'm not seeing a button for update on my phone at all.

Just upgraded to 4.2 and it doesn't work anymore. I had to uninstall and reinstall it.

There's no update button either. So I guess it was just an old version of the app. I had a similar problem with the original droid sphero app, and it turned out to be the phone itself. I had to unplug it and plug it back in, and then everything worked fine. I was using it on the original AT&T. I have Verizon now, and that fixed the problem, and it works great now.

I have the 4.2 update and still not working. I am now on Verizon and it is not working. I tried a couple of different bluetooth headsets and none of them work.

Same here, but it works fine on my Sprint phone.
