Why is VPN connected but not working?

I can't seem to get VPN to work. I've followed all of the instructions on the forum, and I can connect to my VPN, but when I try to tunnel through it or ping anything, it doesn't work.

I have a TP-Link Archer C7 router, and I'm using the VPN client on my Xfinity modem. The VPN client is CyanogenMod 13.2.

1 Answer.
The C7 is a power saving router, which means it runs the traffic scheduler constantly. I have seen this problem before with a lot of C7 models.

The solution is to get a tp-link router. If you have a router/modem combo, I would highly recommend looking at the formant pfsense appliance. It's specifically designed for high traffic setups and it should be pretty close to the C7 in power.

If you're dead set on the C7 for whatever reason, then I would highly recommend using a script toggle the traffic-scheduler on and off. This will prevent it from messing up all of your traffic.

If you are dead set on the C7 for whatever reason, then you need to turn the traffic-scheduler off. While I agree with the solution of using a different router for the most part, I have to respectfully disagree with what you said about that being a 'higher power usage' device. This is not always true. I have run multiple TP-Link routers, both older and newer, as DHCP servers (including the C7) and also as a PoE switch. I have not been able to find a single difference in power usage that is worth mentioning.

I have a C7 that's pretty much identical to yours in most aspects but I'm using DD-WRT using the rt-Century router. Mainly I run it as my router/gateway since I use it for a few other things. The main purpose of the C7 is to be a DHCP server/gateway, nothing more. The "Quad-Core 1.6Ghz MediaTek MT7610e" is also the processor.

How can I tell if ExpressVPN is working?

Bypass China and Google Search Network - Fast Proxy Mode. There are many ways to access the Internet outside China, and each provide their own challenges in getting around the Great Firewall. However, most people have already heard of the infamous Great Firewall which blocks access to sites like Google, Facebook, Twitter and a wide range of other sites.

There's also the option of using a VPN which will change your IP address and give you access to the Internet through a different, physical location. A VPN might be a great option for you, but there are downsides, not least of which is increased latency. It's important that you do your research before signing up for a VPN service, as some are better than others.

If you want to bypass the Great Firewall and unblock websites in China, you can opt for a VPN with a fast proxy mode. These services function in a similar way to a VPN, however, instead of changing your IP, they broadcast your traffic through a server in an entirely different country.

This article explains how this proxy or fast proxy mode works, and how you benefit from it. How to Use a Fast Proxy Mode Service. How to use a fast proxy mode service is fairly simple. It's important to choose a licensed company as they will be responsible for the delivery of your data. Although you will have a different IP address, you'll also be more susceptible to DDoS attacks, owing to the nature of streams travelling through many different devices at once.

Do do this, set your router to select another, local IP address and enable the fast proxy mode service, which will be listening on that IP. You must also keep the connection on full time to avoid dropping out.

How to setup a fast proxy mode service. Setting up your fast proxy mode is a fairly simple process, and can be done in just a few steps. Once you've set up your router, the method varies slightly depending on the manufacturer. However, most will follow a similar process to connect and configure your service.

Step one: find your router. Depending on your router configuration, you'll need to locate the interface to which you'll connect your service. The most common will be port 80, but many routers use a different port.

Why is my ExpressVPN unable to connect?

I have recently started using ExpressVPN as a replacement for my old VPN provider. My connection is working fine on my old VPN (it's a free service), but with ExpressVPN I get the following error message: "The server could not be reached". When I check the connection settings I see the following: Here's the IP address: Here's the connection type: Here's the server: And here's the status: Am I doing something wrong? Why is my ExpressVPN not working?

ExpressVPN does not work for me. It's never worked.

I've never been able to access the internet with my expressVPN account. I've tried on both Mac and Windows computers, and everything in the instructions at expressvpn.com has failed.

It's as if VPN is not even working. Is there something special I need to do to get this working? I just downloaded and installed the app on both my iMac and MacBook Pro. I had to login to my VPN one time for it to setup, then I have tried to connect, and nothing. On the Mac, when I select it, it shows I'm connected, and I can ping google.com and it returns results. But I get nothing from any other website on the internet. I can visit anything else, but not the internet.

On the Windows computer, even in the browser, if I try to connect to anything by name, I get an error saying: Shouldn't I just be able to type in ExpressVPN's address and click Connect? No. Nothing works.

I've tried the setup that the initial tutorial tells you to follow which is the one that gets you to the login screen at step 3, on both computers. No difference.

ExpressVPN is not working for me and I have no idea why. Yes, this is exactly what happened to me - same problem. I had to pay for a 7 day free trial and I bought a year subscription. After the free trial has expired, it is no longer working for me. But for some reason, it is working for you? What am I missing or not doing? Here are the servers I am using:

I have tried everything on the forums, as well as everyone else who has this issue. Please help me ASAP! I need to use this VPN for school and I have no other way to do it. I have completely lost my faith in ExpressVPN and want to close my account immediately. I have 4 friends who will be very disappointed if I do not get this working.

@ The first comment is correct. I was able to log in and log out using ExpressVPN.

However, I am unable to access the internet via any browser or other app that I have tried.

Is ExpressVPN broken?

You are a first time subscriber and needed to buy additional features to set ExpressVPN up. But you're probably noticing a problem: you can't login and if you contact support, you don't see updates.

Update here: I got some answers and wrote down the issue here. It's fixed now! Reason. When I subscribed to ExpressVPN on August 19, 2023 (Check point to time this was formulated), their system looked like this: Web version - 3 days before. 3 days before Android app - 7 days before. 7 days before iOS app - 7 days before. Secure Apache access - 7 days before. So it confirmed the security regarding this setup, and I decided to set this up a week later officially. That's why the first setup started 7 days earlier than the other, iOS. There is also a day shift between the 3 apps, but if you are not on a mobile device that would count.

This doesn't mean that all data and the configuration are not visible! No! We'll see how ExpressVPN is.broken! :( The Issue. When you try to login to the web version, you get redirect spam: Then, this happens unless you turn it offredirecting you to the payment page: So, it's not because of any of the misunhandled User-Agent string, cookies or other factors. Part of the reason is that there's some insync data with the Android app. When you are going to the web login, it doesn't show the error page. Instead, you are given an error and the web version shows Python-based error:
Now, you can try the same password you tried for the Android app here. It worked. So the system is not broken. However, when you try to login from iOS silently, you don't get redirected spam. Instead, the system goes away silently.
