How do I open Twitter links in app instead of browser?

I recently started seeing a few twitter links pop up in my notification area in Slack.

When I click on them, the website opens in a browser, not in the app.

How can I get these to open in the app so I can easily compose replies? If you use Twitter Mac app (free) you can set your browser to use as the default app for all browser urls. As long as you have both the Mac app and the Safari app installed, if you run twitter.com from the mac terminal you'll get the native browser.

You can also make a shortcut in your dock to twitter. While browsing in Twitter's app or the desktop version of Twitter, you can "Open in Browser" the url in question by holding down alt, clicking on it, then choosing "Open in Browser". I am trying to build an app where I have a textbox, which opens the app when the user clicks on a link in the text box.

After trying around with the links, I came to know that there is no way to open the links in the app instead of opening in the browser. As per the documentation, you should not open URLs in your own app (iOS only). There are a number of "alternative ways to open URLs in your app" and "opening a URL in your own app" pages, but they don't include the functionality you're looking for. If you're OK with opening web pages in Safari, then you can simply do that via NSWorkspace.

Why can't i open Twitter links in app?

When I have my desktop browser open and try to access a Twitter link it opens the site in my browser (I'm not trying to open the page in a tab), but if I open the app first and then access the page, the page loads fine. Why can't I open a browser URL in the app? The URL that is not opening in the app in any browser I've tried is this: I tried the above address and then went to "Open in App" on the twitter website and then clicked on the link. It then opened up a browser window inside the app. So this doesn't seem to be a problem with Twitter themselves, instead it seems to be something with Facebook's webview.

What is causing this? And is there a way to make all of the links open in a tab inside the app? Thanks. You need to use a WebView which was added in 5.0 version of Facebook SDK.

When you press a tweet, you can get various options.
