Is an AirTag a GPS tracker?
With all the buzz about the new Apple iPhone 5s (S) in recent days, we decided to take a closer look at a product that appeared to be a GPS tracker: the AirTag. AirTags and AirID. The AirTag is one of the more recent products from a company called AirID, which is a subsidiary of San Diego-based e-Trac Technologies. I first saw the AirTag at the Consumer Electronics Show last year. Like so many other products at that show, it was shown in an unboxing video, and as soon as I saw it, I wondered how the company planned to make money on this product. The most obvious way to make money is to sell tracking software to businesses. But I didn't see any version of that available for the product. Instead, the AirTag has three operating systems: Personal, Business and Public.
The Personal system is free. It includes features such as sending push email, SMS text messages, and regular phone calls via the Internet, but no GPS. If the customer does not have access to Wi-Fi, the Personal system uses GSM cell phone data to locate the user. The Private and Public systems are paid options. The Private system includes all of the features of the Personal system, but with the addition of GPS. This service adds GPS, but there are limits on the number of units that can be tracked at one time. There are also restrictions on the number of devices that can be tracked at one time, and the limit can be raised at any time.
AirID's main focus is on the Personal system. As mentioned, AirTag's Personal system is free, but only if there is a SIM card installed in the device. An unlocked phone will not work with the Personal system.
The AirID website says the Personal system is suitable for locating your car, kids, friends, pets or for any other task. Is it a GPS Tracker? There's really no way to determine whether or not an item is a GPS tracker unless you actually test the functionality of the product. I had an AirTag sent to me for review and testing.

As you wish only to track the location of customers who are calling you from android, you should use CLLocationManager to track customers who are not calling you from your own devices.delegate = self; locationManager.
How do I tell if there is a tracker on my phone?
In Windows 10 there are few ways to check if your device has a hidden trackers on it.
Windows apps, like the Windows Defender, can have a list of applications and where it could find trackers and/or malware. In the Windows Privacy settings, there is a section called Privacy History which has a list of visited websites. These websites are then stored in Trusted sites.
The Privacy Settings section will display if you are visited a website or an app (example: Microsoft Office) and it's not in your Trusted sites list. If that happens you should be aware of that trackers used to track your actions in the apps.
Here is a video on how to find out if your device has trackers installed (click the link to read the steps): Can I remove the trackers on my iPhone? Unfortunately you cannot completely remove all trackers from your phone but you can see them, disable them, or report them to the platform. Here is a guide on how to know what tracker is on your iPhone: How to remove the unwanted apps on iOS. If you want to know what apps have been installed by iOS and what are they for, follow these steps: Open the Settings app. Scroll down and tap on General. Open the About tab. Scroll down and tap on Apps installed. The information about what apps are installed is not always 100% accurate but this will give you a good idea of what is on your phone. The first 3 images in this post shows the information about the apps installed on a iPhone XS Max (from @dvorskyy on Twitter). As you can see, there is quite a bit of apps installed, some of them can be very useful like the Phone app and some of them are not useful at all like the App Store and the TestFlight Beta Testing apps. Can I remove the trackers on my Android phone? There are some apps to check your phone if it has a hidden tracker but you also need to disable some apps as well. The first app I suggest you install is the Google Mobile App. This has a tracking section and you can disable the trackers.
