Why won't my Twitter links open in the app on my iPhone?

Twitter has a very popular application for the iPhone, but if you click on a link to your Twitter page, it doesn't open in the app on your iPhone.

Why is this? How do I get around this? The problem is that the links you want to tweet aren't in the same format as the ones you're used to. If you see something like this: You can't tweet that from an iPhone, because it's not formatted like the normal URL. It needs to be: But the app is expecting to get something like this: You can do the following in the Twitter website to fix this: Go to your Twitter account on a computer and right-click the link to tweet. Then select Copy Link Location.

Go to your iPhone and open the Twitter app. Click the Share button and paste the URL you copied. You can just tweet the link from any device by first copying the URL to your clipboard on the device where you want to send the tweet. Then, within the Twitter app, click the share button and paste the link. Alternatively, if you want to open the link in your default browser on the device, right-click the link and select Open in Safari.e. This is the solution I use: Open Safari on your iPhone. Right click on the link you want to open, and select Open in Safari.
