Is Sneaky Pete worth watching?

I'm not sure I'm even sure I have a definitive answer to the question yet, but the film has gotten a lot of good reviews and has been praised for a number of things.

Some people seem very positive about it; other people, not so much. I saw this one at an IFC screening in LA and I really liked it. There was something compelling about this story about a man who is on death row and who, unbeknownst to his wife, is actually alive. And while it's certainly not flawless, I thought it had some interesting twists and turns and was well directed. I guess what it comes down to is that I like surprises in films and it seemed to have a few. If you are into that sort of thing, I'd say it's worth a look.

I'll second your "I like surprises in films" response to this movie. The big reveal at the end was, as you say, kind of a shocker and there were still a couple of twists in the movie that had me going, "Huh?" And it's just a damned good story, even though it's not perfect. It's not perfect because it's got a bit of a weak ending and some awkward exposition sequences in the beginning and because of a few moments of CGI in the finale. All in all, though, it was definitely worth it.

I like surprises in movies too, and I liked the ending, though I'm still not convinced that Pete is really dead. It does have a nice twist to it - there is no easy answer to the big reveal - which was fun to watch unfold. The rest of it I didn't like.

This was definitely a very good film! It's not perfect, but I absolutely loved every second of it. The twists were great, and as far as I'm concerned, Pete should still be alive at the end. I think the fact that he probably is doesn't hurt the storyline.

The creators do make a comment that people who are released from prison often can't take their own advice. Yet, there is so much advice on the show about the art of getting by.

Why are Pete's best friends a couple? We know from another episode that Pete wasn't all that happy at home, but was his parents' marriage still on point at this time?

How on earth does he turn to such a life of crime? Can you really escape your roots? I also wonder how far you can get before being discovered.

I am very interested in the answers to these questions. In truth I have many of them myself. I know that I could never ever live a life of crime (even if it was in an attempt to be famous!) but I would love to know what life he leads.

I watched and enjoyed this film, although I did not fully understand all of what he was doing at first. Was I wrong though? The end is a bit weird, and there is no clear way to know what happens in the next movie. Will he be captured at the end or will he just go on living his life. I do not know, although hopefully we'll find out at some point.

To try and explain what the heck is going on; he lives off the grid with all of the money stolen from his bank jobs. He is stealing money by convincing people that they owe him money which will then be automatically paid to him by the bank to which he has taken over all the clients information and passwords to be able to access their accounts for themselves, this is what he wants. The reason why he steals so much is because he is building up so much wealth and will later use it to escape, but as it turns out he also likes the lifestyle he now lives, even if he may think about living a real life at some point.

He also steals from other people and goes through the same type of plan as when he's stealing from the bank. It also seems that he loves playing pranks on others as well as doing the opposite which may also play a part in his life. As long as he can go to another person and steal money from them, and get away with it, what he doesn't realise is that someone else will steal it again. When he gets caught he will have to go through the same routine all over again. A great example of this is when Sneaky Pete goes into a shop asking for more money and tells him he's owed it.
