Usually C:. It could be on any disk that Windows is installed on. If this is a remote server it will need to have the appropriate drivers and software installed. The path in which they are installed will be given during the set up of your install, or if this is the only machine then it will be given when Windows asks you for the download directory. In both cases, unless you tell it otherwise, the install will install itself to this location.

While you are home (or on vacation) Windows 7 will have access to almost everything you have installed. When you get back you just use "Update Now" and install all the new features. There are no changes to how your old PC is used.

Answer: Please make sure that you have a second source of installation media available. If you get something wrong your PC can become totally unusable. The only fix is a complete reinstall. Where can I find Aloha Downloads?
What is a download file? A file on your hard drive that Aloha Software provides to deliver files you want to share with other people. Once the file is provided it's no longer available for anyone else to download. Your download will be automatically deleted within 2 weeks after we've sent it out. You have two options when sharing files: 1. Download files from the File Sharing Panel in Aloha Home or 2. Share files directly from within the Aloha Player.
How do I access the File Sharing Panel in Aloha Home? The File Sharing panel is located by clicking the menu tab at the top of the main window. The options here are: 1. Access your shared files from other Aloha Servers or My Files or 2. Select Files to copy to my Downloads folder or 3. Delete the file. Files provided by other people who share with you are marked by a blue check. You can also get to this panel by clicking the link in the email that goes with each file sent from someone sharing with you.
There is also a link in that email that allows you to cancel. We don't send out a copy of your download file if you cancel after you've already started downloading.
How do I share files from within Aloha Player? Select the files you want to share from the play list view. On the toolbar below the playlist there is a "share" button. Share the selected file(s) to share via the standard Internet Protocol (IP).
To share as a file on a web server you need to go back to the home page of Aloha Home. On the menu bar just above the toolbar click the menu tab and then select "Go to my files." Here you'll find a "view my downloads." Click on that button. From here you can share to other servers or directly from your hard drive, but files shared from your personal computer won't be removed after 2 weeks like downloads that are shared on servers.
Can I share a password protected file? Yes, but the Aloha Player cannot be used to access these files. A password protect file must be accessed via Aloha Home and shared to Aloha Home's files section. Click the menu button in Aloha Home's main window, then select File Sharing.
How do I find my download location?
This will be a quick introduction, as you are probably familiar with the main points.
You can always find these options on your computer screen if you click the menu button and then scroll down to Settings - where you can also get into more information about your download.
Click Menu button. Click Settings. Click Download Location. Find the location of your download on your computer. The default is in downloads - this is under the top level on your computer.
Open the destination folder on your computer. So how do I change the download location? Alternatively, you can go to System Preferences > Application Support > and choose Polly from the list. This will open up a box and you can navigate to the directory of your choice.
You don't have to use this, but I prefer this method to the one above - it's easy to do and saves any unnecessary file clutter.
