Thanks in advance for your help. Best Regards. I did exactly as you said. But it says that Aloha is running in the taskbar.

I opened "My Computer" using the Windows Explorer. I found that Aloha is a C:Program FilesAloha folder. I went to the program folder and opened Aloha. I right clicked on the Aloha icon and then go to Aloha -> Stop Aloha. I closed the Aloha by clicking on the red X in the taskbar. Then I started Aloha again. The Aloha icon now says that Aloha is stopped. I can see the picture in my webcam.

What are the limitations of Aloha software?

I have been working on an application for a client that needs to connect to multiple databases. The problem is that the client has several different DBs and they are on different servers. Some of the databases are hosted on a remote database server. Some are on a local database server. It was decided that the best way to handle this was to use Aloha software. Aloha will not work with a local database. So we decided to use the MySQL server on the remote database server.

So far so good. This works great. We can setup our connections to the remote MySQL server on the remote database server and it will work great. However, what we are finding is that if we attempt to create a connection to the local database server using Aloha software it will not work. The error message that is being returned is the following:

The requested address is not valid in this context. I have tried to figure out how to handle this but I have been unsuccessful. The closest I have been able to find is this discussion that talks about setting the server name in the Aloha.ini file. I have tried to edit the Aloha.ini file to specify the IP address of the local database server. However, when I do this it just gives me the same error.

Can anyone tell me how I would go about setting up a connection to the local database server so that I can use Aloha software? Thanks for any help. D

It sounds like you've been through the FAQ on the Aloha forum (), but if not, I'll summarize here. Set the "Server" value in Aloha.
