How do I get files off my iPhone without iTunes?

I have a bunch of music on my iPhone that I'd like to be able to listen to even if my computer does not have iTunes installed. How can I make this happen? Is it possible? I can't get into Settings because it won't let me. It freezes every time I turn the phone on, but if I wait about three minutes and try again, I can get into Settings. Any ideas?

Hello, My name is Steve and I used to have that problem about a year ago. My advice would be to take it to either the nearest Cingular store or Apple care center. Apple charges very small fees for their services and will work with you if they can. They can remove all the information from your account on your phone, delete your apps, restore your phone to a clean install. You don't have to worry about any data loss. Just make sure you can restore to your original state. There are times when you will need a different type of connection and they will install a USB modem on your phone so you can communicate over a different system. That type of thing is pretty common after an accidental formatting which causes your phone to lose all settings and app information. Hope this helps. Good luck!

The problem is that they all require the USB cable that comes with the iPod to be connected during the transfer. And they're not always able to get all the files - the file size limit in iTunes is 3.5 GB, which I think is 4 GB or something, but most of the portable players (with hard drives!) can hold a LOT more. The ones that are meant to deal with big files will try to do it in the background, so you don't even notice that they're working away. But they may run into problems if your file contains video.

I don't have answer for you, but I do know that one of the portable players has a transfer program built into it, so it's possible you may already have one. And if you do, then you're probably fine.

Aloha Web Browser uses the Web Server of your choice to download from the internet.

Aloha Web Browser makes it easy to make your own .jws files and distribute them in minutes. Simply drag your .tar file to the Aloha Web Browser window. The server will start and the job is done.

The download location and the type of installation you choose for the downloaded files is only temporary and not permanent. In order for Aloha Browser to function properly, the application needs to be able to access all of the features. The default location and default directory for a simple install is the user's documents directory (ie, where applications usually go).

Aloha Browser should appear similar to these screenshots. You can make your own customized .jws files: Click on the Open button and navigate to the appropriate folder for where you want to place the .tar file, in either an existing directory or one you've made.

A more powerful option is to run Aloha Web Browser as a service, but when you click on Run As, do not select Windows, as this would prevent you from being able to browse for your .jar and .jws files from your computer; instead, select Command Line. Also, do not change the parameters in the first line.

Click Save and a new process can be launched with the following command in the Command Line field.
