How to connect to mobile connect SonicWall?
Hello all. I'm trying to connect my smartphone to the SonicWall via USB and there are two connections that are enabled on the SonicWall which I have a question about. These are: Port 3270 (LAN-IP). USB port (which is labeled: Mobile Connect). I don't know how to setup this connection. I looked in the "Configure LAN Access" section of the manual but the settings there seem a little out of date for what I'm seeing.
In order to connect the mobile device, a USB connection must be configured as a LAN connection using these configuration steps: On the mobile device, you must turn off any firewall or other access control programs that might be running. To disable firewalls on most devices, simply turn the device's screen on and off.
Go to the Device Settings window and click the Mobile Connect icon to open the Mobile Connect Setup Wizard. Set the IP address for the device. A range of addresses will work for most devices.
Click Next. Set the port number. In most cases, this will be the default USB port. In cases where other ports were used for the mobile device, select the proper port from the drop down list.
Select the security type. The most common setting is Encryption. If another type is selected, set the appropriate details.
Check the check box for the device to be listed in the network. It will look something like this: This completes the configuration for the mobile connection. I don't know if the SonicWall is seeing the phone or not as I haven't had a chance to connect them together yet. But when I'm logged into the SonicWall on the wireless it doesn't show up on the phone and when I'm logged in on the phone it doesn't show up in the SonicWall.
