What app do I use to control my R2-D2?
That's a tough one.
I don't know. Sorry.
What do you mean? Like, I don't know what software I would use to control my R2-D2. I'd use whatever is available, the best one out there.
This is all we get? "Whatever is available" and "the best one out there"? Well, yeah, it's the only kind of answer you can get from someone who doesn't know. If I had my own show, I'd have a staff of hundreds of experts who would spend a lifetime studying this problem. We would have a research department where they'd study R2-D2s for years and then go through every single detail of his programming and come up with a software program that works best. And then we'd put that program into an application that people could use to control their R2-D2s.
But, of course, you can't have that. All I'm asking for is a way to control R2-D2s with an app that lets you type in a command and then give it a name.
Why does it have to be an app? Why not? Are you saying that R2-D2s aren't meant to have a real person inside of them? I'm saying that R2-D2s are more like people than like robots. They have real personalities. Their personalities are the product of their programming. If the programming is good enough, then R2-D2s can have real personalities. If the programming is bad, then R2-D2s can be nothing more than robotic creatures.
But, of course, no one in the Star Wars universe would believe that. No one would ever believe that an astromech droid would have a real personality, or that it would have emotions, or that it would get angry.
Who cares? They would if they saw R2-D2 react to things in the real world. Like what? Like, he hears a beep and goes off on some mission to destroy an Imperial shuttle. Okay, but that's a little different from what you're talking about. It's the same thing. It's a robot that can react in real time to something in the real world.
How to control Smart R2-D2?
I have read a few posts about controlling R2-D2 using your own phone or tablet, but I have found nothing that really works for me.
I have an Android phone (Nexus 5) and I have a Mac Book Pro and iPad.
I need something that is very simple and easy to use. Right now, I have downloaded the following programs: iControlR2D2. IPad-Remote. RemoteR2D2 Free. Smart R2-D2. VHX-Remote. R2-D2 Droid. I don't want to have to be at my computer and use one of these programs. I have an iPad and I'd rather just use that to control the robot.
What is the best way to control R2-D2? The one that I currently use is the iControlR2D2 app on the iPad. It works very well and is quite easy to use. I can do all sorts of things with it, such as make the robot move left and right, make it go forward, make it turn clockwise, etc. It also has a "Go" button on the iPad screen so you can make the robot move and stop.
I tried the other apps, but I found that they were more difficult to use and it was hard to keep up with the robot. Re: ? I have no experience with the new version, but I used to control R2-D2 using iControlR2D2 (I think I installed this app when you had the original version) on my iPhone 4. It's a great program! I was able to control R2-D2 using my iPhone's camera, an LED strip, and the app. I'm not sure if this would work for you, but I know that I had to take a picture of R2-D2 to get it to light up. Once I took a picture, it began to flash, and I could then control R2-D2 using the app.
For example, I would turn R2-D2 to the left, and he would move left. I would take another picture of him and he would stop moving.
Is the Hasbro Smart R2-D2 app discontinued?
I downloaded the Hasbro app last year and never really got into it.
Recently, when I went to search for it on my phone, I noticed that it was no longer there. I've not heard any news about it recently and can't find anything on the Internet as to why it might have gone away. Does anyone know?
I just noticed it too. The last update was in early May and there is no new version since then. I also noticed that the app's description no longer points to the Google Play Store. So if you search there, you'll see an updated version there.
This thread says that it is. I don't know if the actual app (the one that comes with your figures) is still there. I can't find it on my phone, but I may not be aware of it's existence.

It's not an officially endorsed app but rather a fan app made by the original Star Wars fan fiction writer and Star Wars fan, John C. Neal, the first person to publish science fiction in serial form. You can download the complete story on Amazon or Barnes & Noble.
He also wrote short stories and comic books which were published in the late 1950's through the 1980's. The app is more of a collection of trivia, artwork, and other Star Wars-related information for use while traveling. But it's also an interesting "behind the scenes" look into the art, design, and development of the original Star Wars.
If you're interested, Google "John C. Neal" to get a taste of what he produced.
It seems that this information is all wrong. I searched for this app on my iPad today. There are several links on Google indicating that it's been discontinued but there are also plenty of places indicating that it's still available. This is what you can see on my Google searches:
I can no longer find the app anywhere and it's not in the app store any longer. What happened? Is there a new Star Wars app in development or something? How do I get my old Star Wars app back?
What app do I use for Sphero r2d2?
We have a robot called Sphero r2d2.
Its in app. I was wondering if anyone knows an app to control this robot. The app was the reason I bought it. Please help me get this thing working.
Best Answer: In an app named "Sphero" the controls are pretty straight forward. Press left to move right, right to move left, up to move up, down to move down. You can tap anywhere on screen for these controls.
To move forwards you tap and hold. (Or use the slider bar) Then press left or right to move forward.
I'm not sure about the other functions on it, but I know that to move in reverse you just tap and hold to set the direction and then press left or right to move. You could probably also map a button to one of these commands. I've not used it, but I do remember seeing it has a bluetooth option. Click on the robot and open it. There is a green "Settings" icon and a "Bluetooth Options" icon. It should be paired and ready to go. On my computer, once it's paired I just click on the robot to start it, click the bluetooth button, and select the robot.
The app will give you instructions for controlling it. Just follow those and you should be fine.
Hello. 1st. Download an App called Sphero.
Then turn on your Sphero in the app and open it. Then click on your Sphero. Then press the Button. You should see the Sphero and there should be a button in the bottom right corner. Click on it. Your Sphero will light up. When it lights up, you can do what you want. The button I believe is the "back", so I would click on it. For the other question about Sphero 2? Well, just go to Amazon and click the little link on the top. It's hard to say without knowing the model of Sphero you have, but here are the general directions to get your Sphero to play nice with the App. Have your Sphero set to "Paired" in the App.
