How do I open a website without VPN in Chrome?

Why my website is not opening without VPN?

Hello, I have an interesting issue that is somewhat related to the internet and I'm wondering if anyone has had this experience.

In short it is: my website, as far as I can tell, which has been running for years now, is not loading without the presence of my VPN. The VPN is essential since it ensures I can make use of the services of the various cloud computing providers that I use such as Google Apps, Gmail and Google Drive. I use Windows 8.1 and have no idea why I would need my VPN when running Google Chrome. It happens with all links. I have two computers, both on Windows 8.1 and one is using my own internet data through Google Fiber which is pretty low data rate. On the other hand I have a phone on Tmobile which gets me 50 megabits a second and through that I also have access to the rest of the internet. I have my VPN enabled. I can also use my PC, which gets me 25 megabits a second through my cable ISP, or I can put in the IP address of my VPN server (the VPN server allows me access to my home from anywhere in the world). However the problem exists even when only using my PC which has the slower speeds. So what could be causing this? I was a bit confused until I started looking into DNS. I was looking for ways to disable DNS in Windows 8. If this question does go into the wrong direction, please redirect me back and I will remove it.

How to work without VPN?

I have a question for all.

We use the VPN to go into the lab. But my question is, after I get access to the lab if I do a file transfer (with my mobile phone) how to I can do it to or from my desktop computer?

We use the VPN to go into the lab. But my question is, after I get access to the lab if I do a file transfer (with my mobile phone) how to I can do it to or from my desktop computer? This is a tricky one, and its going to be based on where you are located. The only method I know of would be to use a VPN, but that would prevent you from using any of the networks in the lab. The only way to gain access to it is through VPN. Even if you change your IP address, the routing table still remembers which network it was attached to, and will route packets back out the same way as they came in.

If you have an office you can connect to directly you should be able to work with your desktop and mobile devices without any problems. If you don't have an office you'll need to find some form of temporary accommodation. Depending on what exactly you are doing there may better options available to you than staying in your own office. For example there may be guesthouse facilities you could use.

If you are working remotely from home your ISP will give you another IP address, so you won't need to connect to the VPN just as before. "Working from home" is generally not an accurate description of what happens with remote access. There's no connection at all. Your desktop is just another remote device on the network. It is connected to your router which is connected to the Internet and the rest of the network. You are accessing a server with a static IP address on the network.

Quote: if I do a file transfer (with my mobile phone) how to I can do it to or from my desktop computer? You can't do it. Once you have established the connection, the mobile device will act like any other desktop device on the network. There's no special treatment for it.

How do I open a website without VPN in Chrome?

I have a friend who uses a Chromebook, and I use a Mac.

He needs to be able to see a website, but I do not want to give him my network IP address. Can I open it in Chrome without using a VPN?

Yes, you can open that website in Chrome without going through your router or VPN. The way it's done is by loading the server's IP address into chrome. For example, on a chrome://components page, there is a list of servers you can add. Use the Browse button at the top to navigate to the server you want to use. When the page loads, you'll see a bar that says "Address: (the server's IP address)". If you want to test that you're actually going through the server's IP address, try viewing the page using an IP address that's on the same subnet as the server's IP address. For example, if the server's IP address is 192.168.0.1, try viewing it with the IP address of 192.10. If it works, then you're using the server's IP address. It's as simple as that.

How do I unblock a website blocked by administrator?

I'm running an ubuntu virtual machine with Vmware Player, I've opened a port in the firewall that the web browser is using to reach my router.

? Try running sudo iptables -L and ensure you're looking at the correct chain. There's a difference between forwarding and accepting traffic on a given chain, and there's a difference between accepting from your host and forwarding out of your VM. The firewall rules you setup should be doing nothing more than allowing connections to pass through without being modified. If not, something is broken.
