How do I log into my Amazon Video account?

I think Amazon may have taken something from my account, but I'm not sure.

First off, log into your user account. If you don't know how to do that, contact the Amazon Customer Service team, who will be able to walk you through it and make sure that nothing was taken from your account. If there was, they will give you instructions on how to fix the issue and recover any lost content.

This is very frustrating to find out later that something you paid for got deleted because you were on vacation. You cannot watch Amazon Prime videos on a PS4 outside of Australia as the service was not available until recently.

There is an unofficial method that enables you to play on a PS4, but it is currently in a state of flux. There is no official support for this method, and it involves a considerable amount of hacking. The method works around the fact that there is an outdated DRM plugin on the PS4. The plugin uses a workaround that allows it to play from your PC, so if you can play the game from your PC, it works. This workaround is very well known, but the problem with it is that it is based on an old system, which could be patched in the future to prevent the circumvention of the license.

Amazon isn't the first company to roll out online video streaming that is more convenient than renting a DVD or Blu-Ray, but Amazon has put a unique spin on it.

Amazon Video on Demand is an on demand version of your video collection: You can watch all your videos in any order you like. You don't have to wait for a video to arrive before you can watch it, you can watch a movie when you want. Amazon Video on Demand is just what the title says: watching videos whenever you want.

But it's not the same as watching a DVD or Blu-Ray. The videos are streamed over the internet, rather than loaded on a DVD or Blu-Ray, so you aren't actually making a copy. There's also the Watch Again button that allows you to watch the video again, at any time, without having to download the video to your computer first.

Because the content is streamed rather than downloaded, watching a movie with Amazon Video on Demand takes a lot less time than if you had to download and rip a disc. A DVD or Blu-Ray takes a while to rip, and a few hours or more to watch. Streaming is instantaneous. You can pause the movie if you get a phone call or you can change the channel. Amazon Video on Demand plays smoothly. Watching a movie from Amazon Video on Demand may even be a lot faster than going to a video store, where it would take you a while to find the right movie and wait for the clerk to go check the computer. This is great for a lot of reasons:

Is your Prime Video login the same as your Amazon login?

I've had it happen to me several times, and the only way I've been able to get back into my Prime Video app was to go into the app and change my login from Amazon to my Prime login.

I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this, or knows what might cause it? Is it the same issue that you get with your Amazon login not working when using an app? I'm also a bit confused about what happened in the middle of 2025. Here are some screenshots from October 13th of 2017: It looks like they changed the icons for Prime Video back then? Here's an older version of the login screen that's in use today, which is kind of an odd way to log into your Prime account: Update 1: I've had another one of these issues with my Prime Video login recently and just wanted to share that I was able to log in again without having to delete and reinstall the Prime Video app. So for anyone else who does this, if you log into your Prime account on your phone (or computer), and you're having login issues with Prime Video, try going into the app and logging out of your account (and/or turning off the app if it's on your phone). This worked for me, but if you're having issues and need to delete and reinstall the app, that's probably the best way to do it.

Update 2: So, apparently this issue is happening again now. I just started having problems yesterday evening, and after a bunch of Googling, I've come to the conclusion that the app and the login are the same. My recommendation is to do as I did in Update 1 - go into the app, log out of your account, then log back in to fix the problem.

Update 3: Here's a screenshot from today showing that the login page hasn't changed in quite a while. I've still been having issues with Prime Video today, but I just discovered this article which I'd never seen before, so maybe it can help some more: If you don't have a Netflix subscription, I'd recommend checking it out.
