Does Amazon have video on demand?
I don't think they will because with the whole VOD-thingy they want to make their own videos and that would be expensive.
They do have HD though.
Amazon is just using the "Amazon Prime" video on demand thing that they have for DVDs. That's what they are doing. They could also add it later or sell it on Amazon MP3 if they wanted to. If people want the videos, they can just wait for them to go on sale somewhere else.
Amazon can't keep all this crap they have now. It has to go away somewhere or they will end up with a bunch of stuff they can't sell.
Re: Amazon has a video on demand service for music. They have some form of Amazon Prime Video streaming on demand for their video library. I can only imagine this is an early version. I don't think they are going to continue with the VOD format as they move into music and continue to grow their marketplace.
I've noticed this too, but I thought it was something new or exclusive from Amazon. I guess it's not exclusive though. The videos come in a lot of other places too. Amazon just made it easy to watch.
I haven't watched any yet but if it's the same kind of pricing and availability as iTunes then I don't see why it wouldn't work well. They should really add it as an option in their music store. It would make perfect sense.
It doesn't make sense for them to continue to support their music store and make it the number one place for music and at the same time say we're supporting you if you buy our videos and movies. That's ridiculous. They have nothing to gain from supporting both. In fact, they lose as people switch from the music store to their movies.
If they ever decide to kill their music store, that should be enough of a hint to those of us that watch movies/TV shows a lot more than music. I'm sure the answer is somewhere in the middle, I'm just asking if they will allow it or not, not demanding they do it.
