Why is VPN not working on my Samsung?
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2.
I have installed uTorrent on my phone. This has been fine for a long time. However, I just got up and noticed that whenever I try to connect to my university's VPN, I get the error message "Cannot Connect to server". It does not work over the wifi, or through the USB OTG cable. Why is this happening? It should have worked if it wasn't a problem with my network and the VPN service I was using.
Here are my network settings for an Ethernet connection: Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Re: ? First you have to clear the cache and the data. Does Android 12 have a built in VPN?
If so, are there any drawbacks?
As I'm sure many of you know by now, Google released Android 12 today. And in doing so, they did introduce a new VPN capability.
It seems like it's going to be one of the biggest and most useful features. In my opinion, it's the biggest change to VPNs in years, maybe even decades.
But is it worth installing? What does it mean? What are the caveats? And, before you say it, no, I don't have an iPhone and can't test it on that phone. I only have a Motorola G4 (and Moto G6). And that's what I'll be testing with.
Android 12 VPN: What's it all about? When you turn on the VPN feature, it connects automatically to the VPN of your choice. That's the easy part.
The hard part is configuring that VPN and then actually using it. You might have to jump through a few hoops before you actually get the VPN configured properly. And even once you do, there are still some other kinks to work out.
But as I noted in the introduction, the VPN feature itself is a huge improvement over what was previously offered in Android. Let's start with a quick refresher on how VPNs normally work: First, you install a VPN app, usually on your mobile device. Then you open that app. It asks for your Wi-Fi password.
Then you launch the app. The app connects to the VPN of your choice and creates a virtual tunnel between your device and the VPN. So that's pretty straightforward. Android 12 VPN: The Pros. With Android 12, you don't have to set up a VPN at all. Instead, Android automatically connects to the VPN of your choice when you turn it on. That means you can go from locked down to unlocked immediately. There's no longer a time delay that you might need to go through.
As you can see in the video above, I got a message saying, "You have a new network connection." And then I was connected to the VPN.
In my tests, it actually works really well. I never encountered any network slowdowns, nor did I experience any disconnects.
