Why won t NordVPN connect to any servers?
I just installed NordVPN and was not able to connect.
I am using a VPS running Ubuntu 16.04.2. My IP address is 192.168.22. The servers listed in the setup wizard are: US East (NY), UK, and Hong Kong. When I click connect, the connection fails. It says connecting, but it never connects. I have tried the other two servers as well, but it still fails.
The main problem is that I do not know what the IP address for my router is and I would like to know if there is a way to tell that, since my IP address is not listed when I do a search in my browser. I am using a modem/router that is connected to the Internet. It has 2 LAN ports and 1 WAN port.
I was told that the best way to connect a computer to the internet is through a router. What kind of router is this? What brand? What type? Is it an advanced router? Does it have any ports or buttons that are easy to understand? If so, what is their purpose? Yes, I have read your thread and I found it very useful. But I could not solve my problem. I have just got a new router and was not sure what brand and model I should use. So I went to the store and bought a Netgear N600v router. I installed it on my VPS and I was able to connect to the NordVPN server, but when I got to the end of the setup wizard, I still did not have the ability to connect to the servers. I went to the end of the setup wizard, but I could not see any server settings.
Now, if anyone can tell me how to find out what IP address my router has, I would be very happy. Your router should have a port that allows you to configure the router settings. If you look at the back of the router, you will see a small port that is usually labeled "WAN" or "Internet". There should be another small port that is labeled "LAN", and on the back of the router there is a small port that is labeled "Port #1". This is the port that you need to configure in order to allow internet access. If you are using a wired connection, then you need to connect a network cable from the LAN port to the network port.
How do I enable obfuscated servers on NordVPN?
The NordVPN client for Windows and Mac computers comes with several options to obfuscate your connection to the VPN server, but how do you go about enabling this?
On the left side menu of the NordVPN client (the menu that has your connection information, server details, advanced settings etc) there is a tab called 'Network'. In this tab there are two options under 'Obfuscation' namely 'Enabled' and 'Disabled'. On the right side of this screen you can also see 'Disabled', 'Enabled' and 'Toggle'. You will need to click on 'Toggle' to enable/disable obfuscation.
To enable obfuscation you will need to follow these steps: After you've enabled obfuscation you will need to restart the app. After this you will be prompted with the option to change the password of your account. After you've changed your password you will need to click on 'Login' to log back into the app.
Once logged in, you'll need to click on the 'Network' tab, and then click on 'Obfuscation' again. You'll now have a small menu that shows two options: 'Enabled' and 'Disabled'. Select 'Enabled' to enable obfuscation on the NordVPN app.
