How to fix Netflix primary location?
You might have heard some of the terms like VPN and Proxy from the tech experts, and you might be feeling confused about how it all works.
Don't worry, we will try to fix this problem here with the help of the tech expert. Let's see what are the major pros and cons of using VPN for streaming.
VPN vs Proxy. VPN refers to Virtual Private Network that creates an encrypted tunnel between the remote server and your device. The encrypted tunnel hides your IP address, so the other end can't see what you are doing on the internet.
To better understand how VPN works, imagine you are at home and a stranger comes to your door. In that case, you don't want to let him in. So what you do is you send someone else, who is at home, on the internet to meet the stranger. Now that person is actually meeting the stranger, but he does not know which room is his. He does not know his IP address or what your password is. This is what VPN basically does. It does all the encrypting, making your data anonymous.
On the other hand, VPN can only be used in a specific network that supports VPN. So if you try to stream a movie from another country, you will face issues. To get around this, you can use the proxy service.
What is Proxy? Proxy is a very simple term that means a web browser. Proxy is used to forward a request. So for example, when you are watching Netflix in US and then you switch to India, you are actually watching the US version of Netflix. As you know that the US version of Netflix doesn't work in India, so in that case, it uses a proxy service that converts your IP address to an IP address from US.
Now, most of the time, VPN and Proxy will work in the same way. A proxy is a web browser but the difference is that, the proxy will provide data from anywhere. In that case, it doesn't use the internet. And VPN does not work everywhere.
Which one should I use? In this article, we will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using VPN. In fact, it is better to use VPN than proxy service.
How does Netflix determine primary location?
I am a little confused about Netflix's primary location.
When I first signed up for Netflix, I assumed that my home country was the primary location, but it turns out that's not true. I have a lot of different subscriptions and movies, but if I search for something like "Thor Ragnarok", it comes up as "Primary location: United States" even though I live in Canada. It doesn't seem to be based on IP or anything else, so how does Netflix determine the primary location?
1 Answer.
Each Netflix member has a specific "Primary Location" where the content they have access to is determined. This is different from your geographic location (city/town/state/country) which is based on your Internet connection.
To determine which "Primary Location" you should use, Netflix will look at your IP address, and other factors including your device, network type, and language settings. While you're connected to a VPN, it may not work correctly for you. If you have a dual-VPN connection, you can use whichever VPN you prefer for the "primary" connection. While using a VPN, your IP address may change. If your VPN provider is using dynamic IP addresses, this may also cause problems.
If you're connected to a mobile hotspot, Netflix may think you're located in the US even if you're in Canada. If your VPN or mobile hotspot is running a non-standard DNS server, you may experience problems accessing Netflix. I've experienced problems with VPNs and Netflix, and have had problems with my mobile hotspot. I recommend using a VPN connection and a device that has a static IP address. My Android phone and laptop both have a static IP address, and I'm not affected by any of the above.
If you're having trouble, try these steps to help troubleshoot your connection: Turn off your VPN or mobile hotspot. Check the IP address assigned to your device. Is it the same as the one you're using to access Netflix? Make sure that your DNS servers are set to Google's public DNS. You can do this by going to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced > DNS and changing the servers there.
You can also use Google's public DNS if you want, but this may cause issues with your VPN and mobile hotspot.

How to disable Netflix Household on TV?
I tried to change the streaming options in the TV settings and enabled Household so that it can stream to the TV but it didn't work.
Is there any way to get it to work. It keeps saying that there are "No Connections" with any devices and I can't seem to get it to work. Is there a way to disable Household? I want to be able to use the phone, tablet, and laptop to watch stuff on the TV but not be able to access it from the house.
I thought that I would be able to use it through the Netflix app on the phone. The only time I got Netflix to work was when it was set to "Household" and the connection was set to "Auto". Then, if I turned off the TV, turned it back on, and it was on, it would automatically go back to being connected. I also had to turn on "Allow other devices to access this device" in the TV's settings.
Once I did that, it automatically went back to being connected. Now, I can't get it to connect to the TV even if I have the phone connected to the same router.
When I try to go into the Netflix app and select "On TV" it always goes back to saying "Connecting." and then it just turns itself off. When I turn it back on, it goes back to "Connecting." I don't know what's going on.
It does this whether the TV is turned on or off. I have to unplug the modem and router and plug them back in to get it to work. When it's not connected to the TV it will work fine. When it is, I can't get it to work no matter what I do.
