How do I change Safari settings on iPhone?
I'm trying to find a way to change Safari settings on my iPhone, but I couldn't find any instructions online.
My only option so far is to download Settings or iBooks which seem to allow me to do some very little things on the browser.
Do you know of any better options? Thanks. I'm afraid this kind of things are possible only through iOS software and not possible through Mac OS (well, except if you jailbreak your device). Here is how to change them : Settings/General/Safari > General > Website Security. You should probably read the website security description of the safari application on your device for more information.
How do I get Safari back to normal on my iPhone?
I'm not sure if the problem I have is with my device or Safari on my iPhone, but my problem is that everything seems to run very slowly when I go into Safari.e. I used to use safari with my desktop and it ran without a glitch, but now that I have my iPhone (4g), Safari runs very slow, and when I put my finger on my screen, the page will move up and down, all over the place, and I'll have to wait 2 or 3 seconds for it to settle down, which is just not good. I've already reset my device and it didn't work. So what am I supposed to do? Is there a way for me to do this?
How do I make Safari look normal on my iPhone?
Apple just announced that the WebKit rendering engine in Safari is going to become the default for iOS 6.
This is great for Safari for iOS users but it also means that developers don't need to worry so much about writing code for non-Safari devices and Safari on a desktop like their Macbook will look exactly like a browser running on an iPhone. Because of this, developers have been asking if there's a way to make Safari look "normal" so that developers don't need to think about this change.
I'm not one who normally runs into problems, I just use Safari like any other browser but I am using iWork 09 right now and every time I try to save a document on the Mac version, it opens in iOS, but it saves perfectly fine in a version of the Mac app when on iOS. Since they are the same app, I just expected the browser to look the same in both platforms as well, but no, it's all weird looking now. I've also been having many of the links open with an X instead of a web browser arrow so they just won't open at all. Does anyone know of a fix for this? I'm on a 4th gen iPad and OSX Lion.
You should be able to make it look native in iOS by putting it in the "Web" category in the Settings menu (next to Location & Security), and then you'll need to turn off Javascript for that page if you're seeing that error message. However, there's nothing you can do about making it look natively, that's part of the way it is now on the phone. I was really annoyed when the iPad mini came out, because the default browser on it looks awful - even with the "web" option set. Hopefully Apple gets some UI guru to fix the iPhone's native browser eventually.
It might also be worth mentioning that Safari has different functionality in various countries depending on which carrier it's on. On AT&T, for example, the default settings will open links in the store where you bought the app instead of on your Google searches (which you can change by going into the location setting under Safari on the phone). In other countries, it behaves more like it used to.
