How do I fix Safari on my iPad?
This happens when the browser runs in "Safari App" mode, in other words if an app is set to launch Safari first (for browsing web pages). The problem is the browser appears as "Unsupported Sys. Version: Safari Version 6.0." Clicking OK and trying to use the browser again results in the browser not appearing at all, with the status of "Not Found." Attempting to open Safari from Home screen or Spotlight causes the "System Info:" window to appear in the bottom-right corner of the screen with an alert telling me to contact the tech support of the software vendor. Apple's technical support page for the iPad states "Only download web content from Safari from the Mac or PC desktop versions of Safari.e. Use your other browsers to access any content from other web-based applications." How can I avoid this in the future?
This is a great article that covers a few points that are pertinent to any iOS based problem. Safari is designed so that when you click on an item it will show you web pages etc. But the problem comes that most of your items are being directed into Safari itself instead of through the device and in turn Safari isn't designed for the specific hardware of the Apple iPad/iPad 2 device.
You can install and use Safari on your iPad. You simply follow the instructions below and you should be able to get it working fine.
From the Home screen tap Safari.e. If you don't see it then please see the following for further help;. Open the Settings app, tap the General icon, tap Software Update. If the iPad or iPhone Software Update doesn't come up, please go into iTunes and check whether the Updates tab in the General tab is red;. If the Updates tab is red but also doesn't update in the iOS 9.0 Update section, please try updating the iPad or iPhone in the Store section.
How to fix: Safari does not work on the iPad in iOS 9 on both 32bit and 64bit devices;. Make sure the iPad or iPhone is upgraded to the latest version of iOS. Go to the Settings section of the device, tap General > About, and tap on the version of iOS running on the device, for example; iPhone 5s - iOS 9.
How do I change Safari back to normal on iPad?
Ok, this might be a silly question.
I have had an iPad 2 for a little while and now I am getting an Ipad mini.e. When I go to Safari and click to open the page, it changes to the iPad mini safari.e. I tried using the home button to return to the normal iPad safari but all it does is turn the display off. I think it might be a setting or some type of malfunction that I am missing. How can I return to the normal safari on my iPad? Thanks.
This would be a very bad thing to do if you happen to catch your screen at a very low angle. The way to return to the default iPad/iPad 2/2s is to hold the power button until the screen goes black, and you then see the Apple logo. Tap the screen with your finger to wake it back up. Once awake, go to Settings/General/Reset All Settings and enter your passcode. This will restore any settings you may have changed and return the device to the factory defaults.
Thanks for the reply. If I reset my ipad will it delete all my saved information? Also, how do I get to settings? I am a newbie and have no clue where to start or how to even find them.
If you press and hold the power button, it will take you to the normal/default settings. When in there, go to Settings and scroll down to "General." There will be a reset option. Tap that and it will take you back to the factory settings. I think the passcode will reset everything if you have not changed anything. You can change it after that.
What you are describing is a bug. I have never heard of it happening to anyone else. Hopefully Apple will make it a known issue.
I have a 2nd Gen iPad and I've had this issue come up on a couple of occasions. What's frustrating is I usually don't need to do anything. Just restart the tablet and things are fine. On more than one occasion, I'm sure the issue was directly related to the power cord. I usually just let the battery drain for a few hours before I restring the iPad and try again. Sometimes I've just restarted the iPad instead of charging the battery.
How do I reset Safari default settings?
I can't seem to do anything about that (but I am not complaining, it is a very nice browser).
Safari 3 is more of a desktop browser and would not look good if run on a touch device or other form factor with the mouse only. Safari 5.1 looks nicer on smaller screens but it will probably never work on some small form factors.
That said, you really do not want a mobile style browser, unless you are running your own webserver on the device. All those browsers have been making a lot of compromises for years now, and you can't really be that different from Safari anyway. The reason these apps exist is to cover the missing features Safari does not have.
I used it back then, it was good. After I noticed how Apple treats 3rd party apps, like there lifeblood, it was a no-brainer.
That's not even related to mobile safari.e. Most of what safari has that third party apps don't is for desktop use, like tabs/multiple browsing session, bookmarks, etc. It's not like safari has the best implementation of any of those features.
Well they could have just had a "safari" option on iOs which uses 3rd party apps. The problem is when all the third party apps suddenly stops working properly. Well then get a Mac and stop complaining. But then again your problem seems to be with a lack of understanding. Most of the stuff you complain about is only applicable to the desktop version of safari.e. And yes I had been using chrome on the desktop before I got the iPad. Now I use Safari for both. What choice do I have? Either get a new tablet/laptop or have Chrome on my desktop (which I don't) and Safari on my iPad.

How do I reset Safari browser on iPad?
My iPad's Safari browser keeps on going to a white screen (blank white), it won't go back to home screen. It seems the browser had crashed a few days before, which was the time that I bought it. There is no solution, the device keep on going to the white screen. I tried factory reset, but it will only go back to home screen. What do I do now?
If you have done a hard reset - it means the memory is wiped and no data stored in there. The only things you should do are: 1) Download your contacts (if you have any). 2) Download your bookmarks. 3) Download your history. 4) Make sure all files stored in iCloud are deleted. This will let you start your life again with fresh new safari browser. It would get over it, if you don't want to download your data.
