What is Octoparse? Octoparse is a CLI tool that searches a bunch of file and folder paths looking for specific binaries and libraries. It is very similar to AppVeyor, except it can scan multiple directories at the same time. Octoparse was created by Paul Betz, and is now being used by several other open source projects, including the Swift Mailer project.

The default options are pretty good. You can use --help to get a list of all options available.

When you download Octoparse, the first thing that will happen is that it will create a new folder with your application's name and create an executable file called octoparse. The next time you start Octoparse, the program will look in the folder created by Octoparse and launch the appropriate application (in your case this would be whatever site you have the link to).

The best way to get Octoparse working is to install it. I am using Windows and Octoparse, so I have not tried using it with Linux. However, I think if you look at the FAQs, you should be able to figure it out from there.

No, there's no such thing as a developer version of Chrome. But you can get Developer Tools into your regular browser using the Google Chrome beta channels.
