How to set up Ooni pizza oven?

My girlfriend and I just moved to London from the UK.

Her parents own an Ooni pizza oven in the Netherlands. They have all the instructions and a manual. How should I set it up in the UK? Also, are we allowed to use it at home?

You don't have to post the manual, I am quite familiar with the setup. Do you mean that the manual was sent to you by a company in the Netherlands? If so, then you should contact them and ask them for the manual. You can download it for free from their website.

There are two ways to set the pizza oven up: with the timer on the oven or without the timer. The advantage of the timer is that it will ensure that the pizza cooks evenly. It also reduces the chance of burns. The disadvantage is that it takes more time.

For both methods, you need to set up the heating zone by cutting off the air supply (opening the top vent) or the electrical heating element. The temperature of the heating element must be at least 450 F. If the heating element is not hot enough, your pizza will not cook evenly.

If you are cooking with the timer, then you must start the timer when you put the pizza in the oven. It is better to put the pizza in the oven half an hour before the start of the timer. This will give the heat time to develop. After 15 minutes, turn on the timer. It is a good idea to watch the timer after 5 or 10 minutes. If it is still on, then you need to do something.

If you do not want to use a timer, then you must watch the oven regularly. You can do this by opening the top vent and the side vent. If the oven starts to overheat (the temperature rises above 650 F), then you must stop baking immediately. Overheating can result in severe burns.

If you choose not to use the timer, then you must start baking within 30 minutes. If the oven is still not hot enough after 30 minutes, then you must wait another 30 minutes. If the temperature does not rise above 650 F during this period, then you can bake for another 30 minutes. At the end of this 60 minutes, you must turn off the oven. The temperature of the heating element should between 550 F and 625 F. It is advisable to check the temperature every 15 minutes.

Can I use store bought dough for Ooni?

Hi all, I'm making my first batch of Ooni sourdough and I was wondering if I could use store bought dough (King Arthur Gold Medal) for my starter. I've never made sourdough before but am very excited to give it a go. I've used other recipes to make starters but haven't found one that calls for a store bought dough. Will this work? Do you think it will give me the same results? I have an induction cooktop so it would be nice to be able to do a lot of prepping in advance. Thanks for any advice!

This is not a direct answer to your question, but I will share my opinion on why you should not use a store-bought dough for your starter. I am assuming you are using the recommended King Arthur recipe (ie, the one that calls for "all purpose flour"). I can't imagine any reason why a store-bought recipe should be any better than any other recipe for sourdough.

All that being said, here's why I believe you should not use a store-bought dough for your starter: 1) The "all purpose" flour listed in the King Arthur recipe may actually be white whole wheat flour. Whole wheat flour contains more gluten than all purpose flour. Gluten is the protein that gives bread structure and allows it to rise. More gluten means less rising. All purpose flour has less gluten than whole wheat flour, and therefore you will have more rising.

2) Even if you were using all purpose flour, the gluten content of most all purpose flour is too high. You want a very low gluten content (ie, under 7 grams per 100 grams of flour). The average all purpose flour has about 8.5 grams per 100 grams.

3) The King Arthur recipe is a high-gluten recipe. The higher the gluten content, the more leavening occurs. This means you will have more leavening in your starter when you use the King Arthur recipe. More leavening means more gas, and more gas means more bubbles in your dough. The more bubbles, the bigger your bubbles. This is what gives your bread a more open, crumbly structure.

4) Most store-bought doughs are bleached. Bleached flour is not good for your starter.

Why is Ooni called Ooni?

"Ooni" is a Hausa name.

Hausa was used to call the Fulbe in West Africa before the "Germans" from Europe were introduced to Africa (around the 16th century). To this day, the "Germans" are called "Ichirawa" and the Fulbe are called "Ooni". Ooni means "Mighty King" and the Ooni (or the Emperor) was the ruler of all the Fulbe/Fula tribes (in present day Nigeria) before they were brought under the control of the Germans/Europeans. The "Europeans" (by this, I mean the French, German and the British) were introduced in the late 19th and early 20th centuries after the Fula/Fulani lost control of their lands. As such, the Fula/Fulani were no longer "Emperor" of their land but rather "vassal" of the Europeans.

Does Ooni have an app?

It looks like the African version of a mobile app.

And if he doesn't have an app, then it seems like he should. This is a man that has done so much in his life, for his country and for the church, and to be at the level that he is at is incredible. And if Ooni is able to go into the next chapter of his life, and if he doesn't have to use a wheelchair, then he is going to need to be able to do things like an app, to do things like a phone call to his wife, or his son, or to do things like text messages. I don't think that should be any more complicated than the technology that we have right now. It should not be anything that makes him uncomfortable or anything that he can't do. It should just be something that he can use.

I know there are issues, but I don't know if you guys know what issues there are with apps. I mean, there is this issue with accessibility, and I'm not going to name a specific one, but there are some big ones.

But I just want to know how he's going to do that, because I'm sure that he needs to get around, he's going to need to have access to those things. I just wanted to know how he's going to do it. And how is he going to do that? Thanks. How would you advise the church to deal with Ooni? I don't know what the best way to deal with that is. I don't have that answer for you. I'm sure somebody will have that answer. I don't have answer. I don't think anybody does. This isn't something that we do. I mean, we do things like the gospel, we reach out to people with the gospel, we try to go out and help people, we try to help people in their walk with the Lord, but we don't usually talk about our leader. We don't usually talk about the head of the church.
