How long should pizza be in OONI?
By Paul B.
West, OONI team member ? Pizza is great, but if it's left too long in the oven, it can get soggy. The problem with soggy pizza is that it doesn't taste as good and it gets thrown away. You can prevent this by keeping your pizza in the oven for less than 7 minutes.
But what about pizzas made with dough made from a mix? Dough mix allows the pizza to rise and to golden brown before it's ready to serve, so it's harder to tell if the pizza is ready to go or if you should turn off the oven. So the question is: how long should a pizza be in the oven when it's made from dough mix? The answer is:
Can you use Pillsbury pizza dough in an OONI pizza oven?
I'm thinking about switching to an OONI Oven to build my pizza oven but I'm a little confused about pizza dough using in these ovens.
Has anyone ever attempted making pizza in their OONI oven? If so can you use Pillsbury pizza dough or do you have to use your own homemade dough? We use the OONI pizza ovens on our commercial pizzeria and bake the pizza. We made our own dough at home and make our own sauces to be used for our fresh pizza crust, but we've never had any trouble with pizza dough with the OONI.
Hi Matt - yes we have used Ooni for our pizza oven on several occasions. When I bake, it's at a temperature of 550F and after about 15 minutes at that temperature. At this time we're looking to buy a larger Ooni oven (they offer smaller ones). We are interested in a larger model. It seems to bake evenly at such a high temp with a "hot spot" or 2.we're interested in your personal experience with these ovens. What is your recommended pizza dough thickness (ie, can you see your dough in the oven?
How long can you bake a pizza? My normal pizza takes 20 minutes on a typical night. Does your pizza take 25-30 minutes in your larger oven? My larger size is 1050 square inches and can hold about a 30-lb pizza. Can you bake in the evening and come back to finish on the following night for dinner parties? What is the approximate height, depth and width of your pizza (oven)?
Does ooni have an app?
Oom, no I do not have an app, I know i'm going to get shit but I really hate the app and I don't really see the point of it, if my phone is sitting there with the ooni then i've already found what I want or rather need on that phone.
When my phone is locked up in some shop's box i'll be trying to find something. I actually find the iphone much more difficult, mainly the fact you need to remember all your passwords and settings when trying to find a file and I find I never know what i'm looking for. I do have iplayer which is useful at times but it doesn't always work, sometimes my player doesn't like to be used when you're watching tv! I don't see the point in the iPhone App as everything is already there, its a waste of time downloading just another application which is already on the phone waiting for me to have it. I'm using an HTC desire with a sim card.
Re: ? You can sync all content (documents, ebooks, photos) that OONI serves you with a smart phone or computer and all that will be accessible with your OONI app or service any time, just like from a website or your PC/Mac. If the content is available on the cloud you can browse to it in one tap.
No OONI specific smartphone apps because everything's available from websites or desktops anyway. Just don't think there's much need for yet another App. We do support iOS and Android apps, by the way.
Please note that it's only available in English, for now, and we will improve this as soon as possible. So your saying my old 3200mhz phone won't cope? How about I wait until its available to see whats available? As for the iplayer thing, well you have no use for that because your phone has a dvd player built in as well. You might not see a whole lot of the phone's potential then unless you buy a new one with the app pre installed .
What should I set my OONI on?
The OONI is a great way to monitor your internet connection.
It will keep track of your upload, download, and total bandwidth. The OONI app is available for all modern operating systems, including Linux, Mac, and Windows. This guide explains how to install and set up OONI on your computer. We have also made a step-by-step video guide as well, to help you get OONI setup. You can watch the video here:
OONI will automatically detect a new network connection when you turn it on, but for those who wish to manually detect a new network, you can do so by clicking on the OONI icon in your notification area, next to your clock. If you want to change your WiFi network, you can simply select one from the menu that pops up.
OONI will then go into 'Update Mode' which will allow it to re-connect to your chosen network and monitor it. How do I install OONI? Installing OONI is pretty easy! Just download OONI from the official website, and run it. Follow the simple instructions in the software, and you should be good to go.
OONI will take you through the setup process to install the OONI app and its sensors. It will also create a backup of your current connection. Simply hit the Continue button to skip the setup.
When asked to connect to your WiFi network, you can pick a network you have access to, or have the OONI automatically detect a new network. You will then be able to choose an access point, choose your connection type, and enter your network credentials. Make sure you use the correct encryption for your network, as well as choosing the best security. Click Continue if you are happy with the settings, otherwise click Update Settings, and select the wireless channel on which you are using. If the access point does not allow you to enter a password, click Add Network and choose your SSID from the dropdown.
When it asks you to select a sensor to monitor, pick one that will get you the most accurate results, like the one that shows your upload speed. This is also where you can specify a sample rate, which will be the time interval over which data will be gathered from the selected sensor. The default value is 30 seconds.
