How do I enable developer mode on my Chromebook admin?
I am looking for a way to enable developer mode on my admin user on a Chromebook.
Is there a way to enable developer mode on that account? It seems that I am the only one who has access to this feature, and I am pretty sure it is not something I can find anywhere.
According to the developer documentation: When running Chrome OS on a device that uses "device management". (see Setup Chromebooks), you can't use the Developer mode. You can only debug and develop using a Developer Mode build of Chrome, using a. separate administrator account. So, I guess that is how you are limited from using it. I have used chrome://chrome-urls/ and navigated to the page where you enable the developer mode but it appears as though you can only enable it when running an OS build using a device manager. This page also suggests another method for enabling developer mode without needing a device manager. You can also log into the Chromebook in Developer Mode using a. different administrator account than the one used by the normal system. Note: If your device does not support device-management-free debugging, then your only option will be to use a secondary administrator account.
