Can I remove YouTube from my Chromebook?

How do I block a website on my Chromebook?

You can't. The Chrome operating system doesn't support blocking websites on Chromebooks, nor does it have an option to turn off the ability to add new websites. However, you can remove the most common culprits.

Chromebooks come with a preconfigured list of websites that you can't add or remove from your browser, called the safe browsing list. You can also remove some of the most common sources of malware that make Chromebooks vulnerable to phishing and keylogger attacks. There are a few ways to do this, but we're going to show you one of the easiest ways to remove sites from your Chromebook. This method will also help you get rid of dangerous extensions and browser plugins.

Note: While you can use this method to remove certain web content and plug-ins, you won't be able to remove web content like videos or images. To remove the safe browsing list, click the tab that says Sites, and then click on the Add a site button. On the next screen, type in a website URL, like and then press Enter. If you want to remove the site, click Add.

When you're done, click Done to close out of the Add Sites screen. Repeat this process for each site you want to remove. While we're at it, let's remove some of the most common culprits for security exploits on Chromebooks. We'll start with the most important.

How to remove sites that cause keylogger attacks. Most browsers can't protect users against keylogger attacks, a nasty problem that allows malicious hackers to steal your private information and spy on your online activities. Here are a few of the most popular webpages that attackers use to install keyloggers on your Chromebook. Google's homepage - Asking Google to search for something and then watching what you search for. Twitter - Twitter is a popular social networking site, and it's also a favorite tool for attackers to spread malware and steal your personal information.

Is there a way to block YouTube on Chromebook?

Whenever I am on the Internet, YouTube pops up and plays its ads.

I am not a huge fan of this. I do not like the sound of the advertisements. There must be a way to turn this off or stop this from happening. ? I have searched and can't find anything that I really understand. Thanks in advance!

I am not sure if this has been mentioned already, but you could use Google Chrome's built-in YouTube Downloader extension to download videos from YouTube and play them locally on your Chromebook. If you want to listen to the audio or see the full screen then you can watch them on your browser using the built-in media player.

The built-in media player for Google Chrome (download it from the link below) lets you watch videos on your Chromebook without downloading them first. Then, if you want to save them for later or send them to another device (mobile or PC), you can download them from the built-in YouTube Downloader extension, which is a Google Chrome extension and you can download them from the link below.

I did that, but everytime I close Chrome, it opens up with the YouTube ads that keep playing. The only way to get rid of that is to force close Chrome and then open it up. If I close Chrome and open it up again, it automatically restarts playing YouTube ads. This will only work if Chrome is closed by force. If you don't have access to force close Chrome, I think there is a solution.

I'm using Chrome OS on a laptop and I'd like to know if there's any way I can remove the YouTube player from the browser. I am not interested in watching videos from YouTube, and I'm pretty sure that I don't have the option to.

You have to add the option "Don't Allow Sites To Open In New Tabs". The last tab you were in. For example if you visit YouTube and click on a video, then close the tab. A few seconds later you'll be back at the original website. With this option enabled, this won't happen because the page won't open a new tab.

YouTube is a great source of videos. This means you can always download the YouTube videos and watch them offline. If you want to download the YouTube videos, make sure you have the option "Download and Keep Media Files" enabled.
