How do I block a website in Safari?
Safari is a popular browser amongst iPhone and iPad owners.
99 for the iPhone.
But if you want to protect your kids and lock down their Safari experience, you can use either of these two methods. Method 1: Block Websites. You can block websites in Safari using a simple URL. The basic way to block websites in Safari is to visit a special URL that will display a list of blocked websites. The URL is: Web.macsales.com/safari/settings/blockwebsites/ is where the URL directs you. When you open this page in Safari, it displays a list of websites. You can drag and drop the website you want to block into the list, or you can tap on the "Add to Blocklist" button to add the website to the block list.
What's interesting about the URL is that it takes you directly to the settings page of Safari.e. There are options to enable and disable Safari's history, web security, and bookmarks.
You can also control Safari's sync and iCloud features in this settings page. If you're more comfortable with a graphical way to configure your iPad, then Method 2 works well too. Method 2: Add a Website to the Whitelist. You can also add websites to the whitelist in the iOS Settings app. To do this, first launch the Settings app, then tap General > Safari.
Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the Whitelist section. Tap on Whitelist to open it.
You'll see all the websites you've already added to the whitelist. You can tap on each one to add it to the whitelist, or you can tap on the Add button to add a website you've found online.
The iOS 8 version of the Settings app is much easier than the iOS 7 version. It's much quicker and easier to access all of the options.
Note: The Whitelist doesn't work for websites in the same way that the Blocklist does. It only works for websites that are already installed in your iPad. If you're trying to block a website that you don't have installed on your iPad, this method won't help.

Can I block a specific website on my iPhone?
I'm considering getting an iPhone 4S, but I'm concerned about the ability to block websites.
I read on another forum that you can only block a specific website on your phone. Can I do this? And if so, how?
I'm concerned that my wife might get access to one of her favorite websites from work. She uses an iPad, and I know that you can block websites on an iPad. I'm not sure if you can do it on an iPhone, though.
What's the best way to do this? ? As long as you are willing to put up with the possibility that your wife could (if she were determined to) somehow get to it through email or something else, you can block a site. If you are using a jailbroken iPhone, then you have root access, which means you can install any app you want. In order to do that, you need to have access to Cydia, which is the iOS equivalent of the App Store. If you use a non-jailbroken iPhone, you will have to follow the instructions given here to jailbreak your phone. If you're not sure how to do that, then you'll need to get a friend who's willing to help you.
Then once you have root access, you should be able to use an app called Block Site. As long as you are willing to accept the possibility that your wife could (if she were determined to) somehow get to it through email or something else, you can block a site.
This app should be able to block any website on any mobile device. You don't need to be rooted to use it, and you don't need to have the app installed on your device. This app is free, but it has a few ads in the app store.
