It's easy to understand why. Phone companies like Verizon and AT&T charge customers per megabyte. If you're lucky, you might get some really high-speed Internet on the Web for free from your carrier. For the rest of us, it's just too costly to surf the Web all the time.

There are other solutions, though. If you're willing to switch to a carrier that doesn't charge per megabyte, you can choose plans that come with unlimited access. That's the perfect solution, right? Well, yes and no.

While this can work, you're still going to need to worry about how much data you're consuming. There's no way to tell exactly how much data you're consuming on your phone, but there are ways to monitor your smartphone's Internet usage to make sure you're not going over the edge.

The problem comes when you're using your smartphone to connect to a hotspot. Many hotspots offer a limited amount of data for a limited amount of time. On top of that, schools that are getting tough on their students have a reason to watch what students are doing on their smartphones.

Luckily, there's a way to get around these restrictions. If you can convince a hotspot to give you access to the Internet without using the hotspot owner's connection, you can connect to the Internet without any problems.

Wired Internet. If your hotspot has a wireless modem with wired Internet access, you're in luck. When you connect to a hotspot with a wireless modem, you're making the hotspot provider your Internet connection.

Hi, I am a novice (not as such) and have a question for you. I bought a router that has a 5.1Ghz wifi band and it is connected to my tv via HDMI and I want to be able to use the 5.1Ghz band for my computer (laptop) but it seems that the only way I can do this is by connecting my laptop to the internet via my phone (using it's wifi) which means my laptop loses its connection with my tv.

Is there any way of me being able to use the 5.1Ghz wifi band when connected to my tv without having to connect my laptop to the internet? I am aware that my laptop won't be able to connect to the internet because it will be using the 5.1Ghz band, but what I want to know is if there is a way to tell my router to use the 5.1Ghz band when my laptop is connected to it via my tv.

Then, I'd like to give you some advice. The 5.1 GHz band is not meant for a laptop. The reason for this is that your laptop will use the maximum power it can from the 5. A laptop will use 100% power when on 5. If you connect your laptop to the 5.1 GHz band with your router, your laptop will use all power from the 5.

Therefore, if you don't need to connect your laptop to the internet, then I would recommend you to set your router to the 2.4 GHz band.

If you need to connect your laptop to the internet, you'll need to use another wifi band. Let me explain this with an example. Let's say that your laptop's wifi band is 5.1 GHz and your wifi band is 2.

When you connect your laptop to the 5.1 GHz band, your laptop will use 100% power on the 5. But, when your laptop is connected to the 5.
