How do I permanently block a number on my Android phone?
In certain numbers the person's phone rings, no matter who I'm with.
On my Android phone, whenever a number calls, it never fails to ring and start annoying me. The problem doesn't arise when I'm the person's only contact; but if I have additional contacts or multiple phones, that's when it starts being incredibly annoying.
I want to block the number from calling me again, but the call screen says that I cannot modify the behavior of an unknown caller. Does anyone know a way to permanently block the number from calling? If not, can I install something else in order to block the number permanently? Edit: I just thought that maybe one of my other contacts had blocked it, so I clicked "blocked numbers" and "add contact." But the number still won't stop ringing. It just keeps ringing with my other contact, but it keeps going off with whoever I've added the contact to it.
Edit2: This is really driving me insane. Whoever it is keeps calling me non-stop and I've exhausted all possible ways of stopping it. Can anyone think of anything else?
Re: ? It is impossible. Your phone calls the number from your own cellular network with a special call ID, and you have no way of removing it. The phone company could remove the number at any time, but they have no interest in helping you. It's just like ordering pizza and receiving delivery.
I'll bet even the most generous of cell phone companies will not help you. It's called "Caller ID" in the U.S. And it's pretty common and useful. Blocking all calls from those number is impossible though because there are so many ways a call can be routed through the system.
To make things worse you would have to get a special device called a Call Proxy or Call Interceptor, which can be used for a lot more than simply blocking numbers but only if they are making long distance calls. It costs a lot and only works with the manufacturer.
You need to buy an expensive system and it will cost a lot more than just the blocking number feature for a good system.
Why can't someone call me after I unblock them?
I'm not sure if this question is off topic.
Yesterday I deleted someone from my social network app on my phone. Today I want to call him and he won't call me back.
I didn't have any calls when I tried unblocking him, and after he unblocked me he called, so I think something must be wrong. Why can't I get him to call me again? Most likely, the call was blocked after your friend added you to his call blocking list. The problem can be caused by several reasons: Your friend thinks you have made some threats, and blocked you in case they were about to occur. Your friend thinks you are a threat to their life, and blocked you to protect themselves. Your friend's call blocker is set to reject calls from users who are in a specific range of countries, and your friend is from that range. To find out, I would suggest contacting your friend via another channel, like a text message or an instant message.
How do I unblock a blocked number on my Samsung?
I just bought a new Samsung phone and want to use it to call my cell phone.
But my cell phone is blocked by my cellular provider, Verizon. I don't know if the phone can get to that blocked number through the Internet or not. Is there a way to find out? If so, how?
Re: ? You can't access blocked numbers from your cell phone via the internet unless your cellular provider allows it. That is not a phone issue but a network issue.
If you are on a wi-fi connection, then that is an entirely different matter. I would expect your phone to be able to access it through the internet. If it can't, then it is your network, not your phone.
That said, I think that the easiest way to deal with this problem is to get a landline from your phone company. It might be cheaper in the long run.
The phone does not have any problems accessing blocked numbers. If you are on a wi-fi connection, then that is an entirely different matter.
Thanks for the advice. It is frustrating not being able to access my phone's blocked numbers.
I'm having the same problem and I want to know how to unblock numbers as well. My phone is an HTC EVO 3D 4G LTE. I've done everything I could find online to try and get it to work, and have been unsuccessful. It only works if you have a landline and not a cell phone or one of those prepaid plans.
I've had the same problem. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S3. It's my work phone, so I had to get a landline from AT&T. It's not worth it to me, because it was just going to be a one time thing.
