Can Nest Hub 2 make video calls?

It's more useful in the kitchen. The Nest Hub Max is not the first home hub to have a built-in camera but it's the first one that's made a bid for kitchen supremacy. It features four 720p HD cameras (one on each side and one on the ceiling), a 12.7-megapixel front-facing camera, a 9-speaker system that does both good and bad, and a battery that will get you through at least 20 hours of video recording.

It's smaller than the Cam IQ Plus and Cam IQ, and even smaller than the Nest Cam. But there are some major trade-offs. For starters, the Nest Hub Max won't record video when you're away from home. It also has no support for motion detection, and the battery life isn't as long as its competitors' (it only has a battery that'll last you through 20 hours).

There's still plenty of reason to choose the Hub Max over the Cam IQ Plus. It's less expensive, and it'll also work with the Amazon Echo Show and Google Assistant speakers. The front-facing camera on the Hub Max is also the best on the market, so you can make voice calls with your Nest Hub Max.

The Cam IQ Plus and the Cam IQ also have better cameras, and they can be used to monitor your home while you're away, which is something the Hub Max can't do. The Hub Max is a great alternative to the Nest Cam IQ Plus. And it might even be worth a look if you want to make video calls or monitor your home while you're away. But you're probably going to want to buy the Nest Cam instead.

Will there be a 3rd gen Nest hub?

A lot of people are wondering if we will be getting a new Nest hub, and we are still in no way sure, but it seems pretty probable! I have been following the progress and changes of the previous 2 models, they started with having 4 buttons, 4 sensors, 1 speaker, and no hub. There were updates so the 4 button version replaced the hub aspect, now all devices connected to the same hub, so I would be happy if it is coming out without the hub but only time will tell.

With some speculation of the first 3th gen model coming out between the end of April and end of May, and since the 4th model of the previous gen was released in September of last year; it seems that the 4th model of this gen will release around September of this year (2017). I believe after the launch of the 4th model they will introduce another series, or just continue on.
