Does Google Chrome not support Netflix?

Does Google Chrome not support Netflix?

The Chromecast is like the Apple AirPlay that will let you cast any local or networked media to your TV using your browser, and you can even share a portion of your screen with your laptop or tablet!

As I stated earlier, if you type in google.com into your browser, then it brings up a page but this one that is not designed by the designers of Google. They changed the url of their standard home page so that it takes the player to the movie or show which is not available on Netflix

Here are some steps you can follow to change your google chrome settings, to make the chromecast device behave as the original google home page.Step 1 - You need to enable the device on you chrome browser click on this option here and you will be directed to this setting, choose the 2nd option 'Set home page' and put the device home page address for example Now it's the time to set the new homepage, type into the address bar and then paste the chromecast device home page address that is This is how the page looks as a default with Netflix.

Is my Chromebook too old for Netflix?

I just upgraded from a Toshiba P10-a5-1C Chromebook to a HP Chromebook 14, and I'm having a tough time streaming Netflix.

As I understand it, when I open the Netflix app on my chromebook, it will prompt me if there's available data for me to use. It works with my other streaming services like Pandora, but not with Netflix. I've even tried updating my Netflix app, but the results are the same.

Has anyone else had this problem? Thank you. Romeo I have an HP Chrombook with the latest version of chrome. I have not had any problems whatsoever, Netflix and Amazon Prime etc work flawlessly. Maybe try updating your OS

I've been having the same issues - and it's only Netflix. No others have worked at all. My current Chromebook is 1. I get a message saying "the streaming data isn't compatible with your device" when I try to stream Netflix. I used the "install" button in Chrome to install the latest version of chrome (7), but that didn't make any difference.

Same here -- the Netflix app will prompt that I need to install the Netflix app, which I have, but nothing happens when I click the "install" button, it simply does nothing. My OS is currently 1.1474. I've tried updating, but it won't let me -- I get a message saying that it can't be updated.

What have you tried to fix the issue? I've already updated my system to ChromeOS 14.807.2. I do have the Netflix app on my Chromebook, but the issue still persists.

I have tried using an emulator to access Netflix. It doesn't work either. I have to go to the browser first, which is the whole point. How do I just open up Netflix straight from the Chromebook?

I am not sure what the issue could be. I have the Netflix app installed on the Chromebook. When you are not using the chromebook, the Netflix app should automatically check to see if there is streaming data available. You can access the Netflix app using a web browser. I think you might need to download the Netflix app.

Why does Netflix not work on Chromebooks?

Is it possible to play movies on Netflix on a Chromebook?

If not, why? Michele Molnar. I get the error "the connection is unsuccessful" and after refreshing it shows the blue Netflix logo for a few seconds. When you try and open the Netflix website it simply tells you that Netflix doesn't work on Chrome OS. Is there a problem with it or is this just an oversight on their part. It worked in previous years but has not been working since I got my machine a few weeks ago. My operating system is Ubuntu 14.04 and chrome v.26.011474.76 dev and have tried both apps and website version.
