What is gua sha good for?

Do it at home on the weekend

With a weekend ahead, you just want to spend that time relaxing and taking some time for yourself.

I am here to tell you: GUA SHA CAN HELP YOU! Let's have a look at some of the benefits of gua sha at home.

To start, this practice, as with every other health modality, is beneficial because it will help relax the body in general and its joints in particular. This is true if you perform the technique at the beginning of the week, or when you have a day of rest or vacation.

In the case of the weekend, however, a weekend of relaxation and leisure are just the perfect opportunity for your body and mind to have a good break and to recuperate without doing anything. Why? If you go a little bit into history, the Chinese believed in five emotions: joy, sadness, anger, disgust, and fear. The ancient Chinese physicians said that people should manage these emotions, but only if they can control the mind to reach the heart.

You could think of Gua Sha as that: using all the muscles to move the mind so that your body becomes relaxed and you can better manage the energy that flows throughout it. You cannot stop emotions, but you can certainly slow them down.

Gua sha is perfect in the middle of a vacation as it does not require any equipment or any special place. The main goal is just to relax all the muscles and joints that make us feel the tension and pressure.

However, after a week of holidays, the holiday's end brings everything back and it's easier to feel the feelings again. That's why I also recommend doing gua sha right before sleeping because it gives you enough time to feel the fatigue without being tired. ? Because it is a therapy with the potential to improve your quality of life, it would be hard not to mention that. We know that gua sha helps to alleviate pain and discomfort and increase mobility in the joints. But do not give up your weekend to experience them.

If you go home today after a wonderful week at the beach, gua sha will allow you to enjoy the sun without stress or aches while feeling that sensation of pressure on your joints.

Does jade gua sha really work?

There is a long history of people claiming that the jade gua sha exercise helps one to lose weight.

The reason why it's common to hear it is due to the popularity of Dr Wang Lien-Cheng whose method, according to its adherents, can get you skinny. But theory behind this exercise doesn't make sense in light of recent studies and theories. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't follow it!

I will go over my understanding of the exercises and then compare my view with that of several respected academic researchers. Jade Gua Sh or the Body-Weight Exercise. The first definition is. Jade Gua Sh (in Mandarin Chinese:, Jngu Sh) (also jade ku sh / ku sh) in modern terms, is a health practice commonly found in China and Taiwan wherein participants perform movements by pressing or lifting various body parts such as the feet, elbows, knees and neck against the floor with hands behind their head. And from another source: Jade Gua Sha = Jade Handshakes: It is most often used for health benefits, but has a long history of application. By shaking from shoulder to shoulder and from elbow to elbow (a bit like a jig), your whole body moves, loosening up your limbs and muscles. One popular variation is to shake from elbow to knee. You can also just shake from elbow to shoulder.

This looks like an exercise that does not involve exertion or weightlifting. Therefore, let's call this the Body-Weight Exercise, since we are not taking any object with which we are supposed to exert. In fact, it requires no strength at all.

In the body-weight exercise, the idea is that, since you shake from elbow to elbow, neck to shoulder, shoulder to knee, and so on, shaking your entire body in this manner causes looseness. This appears to be the reason that it is used to loosen stiff necks, legs, etc. In addition, if one does the exercise while sitting, they can cause their body to roll from right to left and back.

But there are three problems with this idea, and they explain the many problems of body-weight exercises.

What are the cons of using a gua sha?

The answer is the same as for everything: there are no cons.

Not the way I see them anyway, so why don't you share your perspective? I've always used a gua sha for the healing of my clients. I do not recommend using it for your face. When I use it for healing I never use any other methods and I'm always very careful about where I use it. I also make sure the body is really relaxed and not tense when I do a gua sha on a person. The following gua sha is similar to a facial in that I do an exfoliation and then start by pressing around and underneath the eyes. After I do the eyes I press up under the cheekbones, and I finish off by doing the side of the jaw line. My gua sha can take up to 30 minutes. When I am finished I may have some skin pulling as I did it at different pressure levels. This pulls it with a bit of a pop sometimes because it pulls away more loose skin. The key is to be very gentle with the muscles around the jaw. Do not try to push hard with the muscle in your finger and put too much stress on the jaw. That can cause serious injury to that area if done right.

Do you do a facial massage for healing or do you just do a standard facial massage? I do a facial massage for healing all of the time. I do the neck and shoulders when I begin a facial massage for healing. I do the face and neck. I do the back of the neck. I do the armpits. I do the ears. I do the scalp. I massage all of the areas that need to be treated and then I do the rest of the face. I do the eyes first. I follow this with some scalp massage and then a little neck massage. After I've finished I may add some reflexology work in the feet and hands. I do a gua sha in a little while. So I do a facial massage for healing and also do the facial massage to relax. That way I am getting the best of both worlds.

If someone had a facial in the past what would you suggest?
