Does gua sha actually tighten skin?
Is it true that doing gua sha helps to tighten the skin?
It's been recommended to me. I have a friend who has been using it for years, and she has always been able to pull her skin taut.
I have used it on my thighs and my stomach, and nothing happened. I'm worried that it's not doing anything for me, and that it's just a marketing ploy. But I'm a bit curious about it.
Any thoughts? I'm sure you have heard of it, but just in case you haven't it's an acupressure technique that is used for healing. It's a good technique to use on sore muscles, but it's also known to be useful for other areas as well.
I was at a gathering and one woman told me she used it on her neck, arms and legs. It really works if you're willing to commit to the technique.
It tightens skin because it's not a 'pull' but a 'push' technique. Basically you're pressing on certain points on the body that are said to be related to specific organs, glands or blood vessels. If you're doing it correctly, you should feel a 'thwack' at the spot you're pressing on, and then it's supposed to tighten the skin as the pressure pushes it back into the muscle.
You can do it lying down or sitting up, it's really only important that you keep your arms/legs straight out, that's all the body needs to relax into the pressure. I was skeptical when I first started using it but once I got used to it I actually really like it. I feel like it really makes my skin feel more toned and relaxed.
I don't really know if it's a real technique or not, but I just wanted to share it with you.
Does gua sha actually lift your face?
For many years, I've had the idea of doing a gua sha to help lift my face.
I've heard that this is not true, and that doing it too often will cause damage to my face. Can anyone explain to me if this is true?

It's one of the best facial exfoliating and tightening exercises out there. In fact, it's the only facial exfoliating and tightening exercise that I know of that I have no fear of looking like a gorilla on the side of the road.
Does gua sha actually do something?
How is it different from using massage?
I'm a bit skeptical about this method because I don't see how it would be useful. I've tried it and it didn't seem to work for me.
Yes, the purpose of the gua sha is to stimulate the organs. It is done by placing your hands on your abdomen (or chest, depending on where you do it) and pushing down, while moving your hands in circles, with the amount of pressure dependent on how much you want to stimulate the organ.
The reason it's not effective for you may be that you are doing it wrong. You have to use the correct amount of pressure and move your hands in the right direction.
I recommend trying again using the correct amount of pressure and direction. I also recommend learning what the different hand positions mean, which is explained here.
What is the best brand of gua sha?
I've found there are a lot of different brands and a lot of conflicting information.
It is important to get the right tool for the job.
How many times have you had your hand slammed in the door because you didn't grab the handle right? The key to gua sha is keeping your grip on the handle tight enough so that you do not loose your grip when you hit the door. The first thing to consider is what type of gua sha you are going to use. Gua Sha Hand Tools. What is the best gua sha tool? That is a very subjective question. It really depends on what type of gua sha you are doing, how you are going to use it, and your own personal preference.
Here is a link to my gua sha reviews where I talk about my favorite gua sha tools. You can also find gua sha reviews on Amazon.
Which brand is the best? This is also a subjective question. If you are just looking to try gua sha then it doesn't matter as much. However, if you are serious about gua sha then you will want to buy a high quality tool.
I like to buy from Amazon and eBay because they have the best prices and they also have return policies. This is a great gua sha tool because it comes with two handles, the small one for working on your fingers and the larger one for working on your wrists. This gua sha tool also has a handle that can be rotated 360 degrees, so you can work on your hands, wrists, and forearms. What is the best gua sha tool for wrist work? That depends on the size and shape of your wrists. Some people have very large wrists and others have very small wrists.
If you have a smaller wrist, then you will want a gua sha tool with a large handle. There are three handles you can choose from: Large Handle. Small Handle. Tiny Handle. You can also look at the weight of the gua sha tool. The heavier the gua sha tool is, the harder it will be to move around the room.
This is a good gua sha tool because it has a medium weight, which makes it easier to move around.
