How can I see a real time view of my house?

I currently have a webcam for my desktop computer (on an actual desktop), but I'm not sure how to do it for a laptop. I can't use my laptop webcam (that's been replaced by a webcam that's on the back of the computer) because it would be in front of my laptop, obstructing a nice view of it. So, what can I do?

You could get a second screen and run the webcam app that runs on that screen, then you can use your laptop computer's web browser for watching the monitor if you need to switch to another program for some reason, but of course then you'll have to plug a second monitor into your laptop. You may want to try the Skype software. My understanding is that you would install Skype software on your windows desktop and then get a phone number to call at. Then you could connect through Skype with any other computer user with Skype installed. This Skype app could allow you to connect to your internet connection through the webcam which would provide a better view for yourself as well as anyone else connected through Skype.

How do I track a live location?

If you have a live location, you can track it by going to the 'Live Location' tab of your Google account.

After logging in, select the location you wish to track from the 'Pick a location' drop-down menu. You can also track any location saved in your search history.

If you can't find a location, or have it saved in search history, you can manually add a new location by selecting the 'Add a location' option. You can also add a location if you have the Android app installed.

Select 'Add a location' and either: Use the navigation map to find the address of the location you want to track, or. Select the name of the location to find the address. Google has released its real-time Android app for the mobile version of Google Maps. The beta features live traffic as well as current satellite, terrain and street views. The new feature was first unveiled for the desktop browser back in May. The real-time Google Map is definitely useful when trying to decide where to go and how long it will take to get there.

I've previously written about another cool real-time Google Map application for Windows Phone 7 devices that also updates in real time. The application is available free from Google Play. The download is about 9.7MB. The real-time map appears right on the main page as the title bar changes colors to indicate which layer of the application is active. To view the map, tap the green arrow in the upper left-hand corner of the page.

The maps are powered by the Street View and Navigator applications and are currently being updated across the US. Street View cars will start rolling out of the office of Google's Mountain View, California headquarters as a global rollout continues through the end of August and beyond. They will be deployed as a rolling series of trips around the U., starting in Portland, Oregon and heading west through places like Seattle and San Francisco. You'll be able to check it out by visiting this special Google Maps page for each city once the Street View cars are deployed in your neighborhood.

Street View is only partially visible on the mobile version of the Maps website, so Google's real-time application will make the experience complete for many.

How do I use Google live location?

If you have this setting enabled in Google Maps, then it's likely that you are already seeing the live location feature in action. However, if you haven't enabled it yet, you can do so through the following steps.

Open the Google Maps app on your phone and sign in to your account. Tap the 3-dot menu icon in the top right-hand corner of the map view. Select Settings > More Settings. Scroll down the page and tap Live Location in the list. Enable the toggle switch by tapping the light blue circle to make the symbol green and blue, then tap OK.
