How to open YouTube links in app instead of Safari?
There are times when you would like to view a YouTube video on your iPhone and want to do it in app.
You can do this by either clicking on the YouTube link within the Safari browser or just by opening the YouTube app and then opening the link within the app.
The issue with the second option is that the app doesn't open in app but instead opens the link in Safari.e. If you do this it will force close the app.
It's easy: Open the YouTube app. Click the URL of the video you want to open. If you want to open the URL in Safari, first you must open Safari, then go back to YouTube. You can also use the youtube app to open the videos, but then the app doesn't close after you finish watching the video, it stays in the background. In the youtube app go to the URL of the video you want to watch, hit the play button and then click the "Watch Later" button. The app will stay open until you close it, no need to do anything else.
How do I get links to open in app instead of Safari iPhone?
I've looked everywhere, but I can't seem to find a way to change my default browser on my iPhone to one that will open up links in the App instead of Safari.
I use Firefox, Chrome, and Opera. Apple no longer allows apps to choose whether they open links in the user's Safari or the app itself. Since the Safari 4 release, iOS has always opened them in Safari.
In the Xcode Organizer, there is a build number under the Devices tab that displays your current Safari version. This should help you narrow it down if you still are unable to find the relevant settings.
