What time is Black Mirror season 6 coming out?

Black Mirror has been delighting fans with some incredible twists, and now it's time to find out how the rest of them end.

Fans were left scratching their heads at the conclusion to "San Junipero", which left us wondering how much more Black Mirror content there could be. Luckily, we can now finally breathe a sigh of relief and confirm that we have until the end of 2023 for season 6! However, we've also been getting a hint of what our heroes will be up to in the meantime, so here's everything you need to know about what's going on in the time between seasons. What happened in season 5? Black Mirror season 5 started off with a great deal of anticipation and tension - but ended on a bit of a downer. It turns out being stranded alone on a deserted island was not very romantic.

The most important question for many fans was: is Charlie going to die or not? The question of Charlie having his heart cut out by an organ harvesting machine at the end of the episode felt like the final blow to the entire story and all the build-up over the last five episodes that had previously filled us with hope and suspense. But before this devastating twist took place, Charlie seemed in good spirits - he kept up the hope of a "great escape" when a voice spoke to him, revealing the future to be full of potential "great escapes". Charlie would go on to discover his heart was still intact when he returned to the island, giving him the chance to "escape" into death.

It may have looked dark, but Charlie's happy death did allow for a fantastic and unique ending to the series. Was that it? Unfortunately not - as the episode had only given us a brief taste of the great things to come. In fact, things quickly got even worse than Charlie had already been dealing with in the real world. What did the other episodes involve? While it's hard to say which episodes will be released when at the moment, Black Mirror content releases are rarely predictable. Here's our pick of some of the main events from the past few episodes (note that some information is exclusive to UK audiences - see the "Episode Guide" page on the main menu for the latest).

Will there be a Black Mirror season 7?

You're damn right there will, because Netflix has renewed the sci-fi thriller for a sixth and seventh season, reports Variety.

Black Mirror is back with a Season 7 pickup. Variety (@Variety) August 20, 2023 The news comes from Variety, which says: The series, created by Charlie Brooker, will return for a sixth and seventh season. The sixth season debuts on Netflix in 2023. The seventh season has not yet been scheduled.

The show, which is produced by a British company (by a UK man) for a British network, but that seems to be okay. Black Mirror has always been pretty good at setting itself up as a story we can tell, even if it's just an illusion or a thought experiment, in its own world. It's set in a near future where people live in a "nostalgia-tinged society" where the idea of the past is a real threat, and one of its key characters (like Will) is addicted to a video game called "Aldous Huxley." The game shows people their lives as a cartoon strip, but at a slower pace.

It's the same basic conceit behind Netflix's other anthology series, The Crown, and like that show, Black Mirror sometimes veers into other worlds, or into our own pasts. We'd love for the show to take us somewhere else, but the way it often works is that we learn more about ourselves, that there are so many versions of the past and present that coexist.

The Black Mirror (UK) Premiere Trailer Arrives For Season 6. Black Mirror (US) - Series 5: Our Favourite Episodes From the Final Season of the Hit VR Series! The official description has us heading back to the future, with Charlie Brooker's chilling collection of mind-bending stories about our possible futures. With the help of some of the best science-fiction and technology writers from both sides of the Atlantic - David Fincher, Ridley Scott, Michael Green, Charlie Brooker, Annabel Jones - this anthology series looks set to be the most mind-bending and thought-provoking in its history. With an original sci-fi take on the near future, Black Mirror takes a look at what would happen if our smartphones, smart TVs, wearable technology, self-driving cars, virtual assistants, genetic editing and artificial intelligence suddenly got out of control, and started evolving towards a terrifying, but familiar world. As usual, the series explores themes of the uncanny valley, as well as the dangers of new technology. In particular, two stories revolve around artificial intelligence; one where a sentient robot is created - after the human equivalent of it has died (the same has also happened to another boy in the past); and the other focusing on a teenage girl and her online relationship. These are joined by an episode that looks at the concept of love and the idea of 'true love'. There are also three episodes all with a time-based theme; one where you see what would happen if a terrorist successfully attacks a major British event, another where an elderly person takes up the challenges of a modern-day gladiator; while one final episode explores the consequences of someone choosing to get rid of the memories of a loved one. This is only a teaser trailer - but it's already been a success on Twitter .
