As you know, the Netflix original series ended its six-episode run on Sunday night with an episode titled San Junipero.

Showrunner Charlie Brooker addressed the fans who were disappointed that the series which explored the concept of a future where people can enter virtual reality simulations of their ideal lives ended. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, he said he's in discussions to make more Black Mirror.

He also talked about the controversial ending of the show and whether the writers were aware of the impact it would have. The full interview has been posted below. ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Obviously, the season six finale of Black Mirror was a big moment for the show. I'm sure you're getting some emails and tweets about it. I just wanted to start off by asking, how do you feel about it now?

CHARLIE BROOKER: Well, I think I've answered that in another way. I don't think it's any different to when a book or film or play ends. We've got a job to do. You've got to make people want to watch the next one. I'm in discussions with Netflix about doing more Black Mirror. And we're in that phase where it's quite early days. There's been a lot of talk about how the show's not going to end. And I'm in this process where I'm talking to the people at Netflix about whether we're going to continue. It's all very fluid.

You've spoken before about how the writers were only aware of how the show would end after they'd written the episodes. But it seems like you were pretty much fully aware from the beginning that there would be an ending like this.

Yeah. What was interesting about that last episode, Nosedive, was that it's a real moment for us. When I was talking to Charlie (Wexler), we were saying, What can we do to make sure that this is what people remember? And I was talking to him about a scene where somebody has a panic attack on the train and you see the world outside.

I don't know the answer, but I do know this: there's a little gem of an interview out with Jodie Foster, and it's worth reading. She doesn't say much else, but she does give some hints about how the series has changed since she first read the scripts and what she thinks of Charlie Brooker.

I'm not talking to the writers directly, but I will say that they are very, very good writers. They are not just writers, but they're human beings, and I think that's an important distinction. As an actor, when you read a script, you can't help but be affected by it. The language is very difficult, because I have to go inside, but I think the dialogue, and I think the stories are the best I've ever read.

The scripts are a very, very good fit for me as an actor, and I think that's an important thing. It's been great. It's been exciting.

She also talks about the show changing since the first series: They are so different. I've done four series now, and it's like, where did that come from? I don't know where that came from.

I think that the first two seasons were mostly about the tech, and then I think went through a bit of a transition, and I think the third season was about the social aspect. And then the fourth season was a kind of return to the tech.

I don't think that they're going to make another season. That's what I'm being told. But I think it's been a brilliant journey for all of us. I've been having a lot of fun.
