How hard is The Witness game?

When I first sat down to play The Witness, I was completely floored.

A puzzle game where you had to figure out how to move around a grid with no information as to what your next move should be? There had been plenty of puzzle games before, but there was something here that was fresh, something so unique that it was unlike anything I'd ever played. It's also a game with no dialogue or any explanation of what's happening around you, which is a pretty risky premise for a game.

I'm glad I didn't know what was coming. If I had known, I think I would have walked away from the game before I had even gotten started. I would have walked away and thought that it was too difficult, too unique and that I wasn't any good at puzzle games anyway. And then I'd probably never have played it again.

But I was wrong. Because The Witness, I discovered, is a game where everything comes together. You're not forced to figure out what the correct move is on your own. You don't have to guess the rules or try to come up with a theory about the way the world works. Everything just makes sense, right from the very start.

And that's what made it so hard. Because when you start playing, you think that there must be a hidden message behind every puzzle or that a certain rule has to be broken in order for you to get the next part of the game right. You're wrong, though, because there's no meaning or clues. It just all makes sense when you finally see the pattern that you've been staring at.

It's very rewarding when you do finally figure it out, because it's hard to forget that feeling. It's like a real-life puzzle that you'd love to solve, and it's great that you have the chance to test your skills at the same time. And if you really need to work out a tricky puzzle, the world around you is full of hints that you can use to get there. The Witness has a lot of things that make it very accessible, but it doesn't break the rules of puzzles. It just makes the rules.

There's something I've noticed over the past few years. I'm looking back at a lot of games that were very difficult for me, that I struggled through and never finished.

How does The Witness end?

For now, just know that it ends on a cliffhanger.

So if you were looking to read all of The Witness' story, just wait to finish reading until the end of the week. The Witness will be available for download on PS4 and PS Vita starting on May 18th.

That's not all that we have in store for May. The biggest addition of the month is definitely the new PSN game Trials Fusion. This one is really a blast of a racing game and is a bit of a return to roots for developer Red Bull Media House. As a free game, there's nothing more to say about it, so instead, I'll tell you more about the upcoming PSN releases this month.

For starters, PlayStation Plus members will be treated to the very special release of Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time on May 9th. This is a spin-off of the critically acclaimed Ratchet & Clank series, and you'll get to play as Clank this time. We've yet to see what this one has to offer and it might be worth checking out.

May also brings us the game that the team over at Sony Santa Monica is most excited about. In fact, we got a preview of it in last month's E3 trailer. God of War: Ascension is on its way next week and the whole team seems to be very excited about this one.

There's also a pretty big update coming to the PlayStation Store on May 8th. We're not sure what it's going to be about, but we can tell you that it's probably something cool. You'll probably be able to find out more when the store updates. If you aren't interested in what we have in store for you in May, then we'd recommend waiting to check out the Uncharted 4: A Thief's End gameplay demo from last month.
