I found it odd when I named my daughter Camila. My husband and I were at our local department store, and I noticed a little girl with a name that sounded like Camila. I couldn't help but look her up on the computer to see what her parents chose to name her. Her parents decided to give her the name Camila because it means, "Little one who brings light." The name fits the name because she is a very sweet and loving little girl. It is a very good name.

Is Carmela a Spanish name?
I believe that it is.
however, what about those people who are of Spanish heritage and use Spanish names on their family crest?
It's interesting because I haven't found a single instance where a member has used it to identify themselves as such. Not every member uses their names as their title (I wouldn't know because I haven't). To think that there are only two names registered to R&K doesn't mean that there aren't other ones on the list that are also in use, I just don't know how many. Renaissance & Knight has not updated its database, but there were five members during the entire existence of R&K who have Spanish heritage and took Spanish names, and one (Carmela) was from Madrid. The name isn't her first time to be on the list, it was her brother, who left Madrid and had his own title. But there are certainly more examples we just don't know of.

Carmela (Spanish: Carmen) is a feminine firstname or feminine given name, derived from the Roman gens (family) Carmen. (French: Carmen, masculine; Dutch: Carmen, masculine; English: Carmen, feminine; German:Karmen; Italian: Carmela, masculine; Spanish: Carmela, masculine) which in modern days belongs to the feminine gender.
Is there any way you could update your database with all of the titles listed for each member during the entire existence of R&K? It would be very helpful for researching names. There are three women in RK named Carmela: Carmela Cerrudo, Carmela Fernandez and Carmela Guisado-Hinojosa. Also, one surname is Carmela Martinez. I haven't yet checked to see if any of them are related to each other.
