How do I turn off school block on Chromebook?

I am not having any luck turning off school block.

I went to security settings and clicked on device control and it will not let me make changes. It says "You are not authorized to view this information." I did not have this problem in chrome before. I have a HP chromebook c910. Any ideas?

Chromebooks are for learning and can be used without anyone's permission at any time. I want to know where are they hiding the security options. I think if I can find them, I can change school block and other settings.

Answer:Turn off school block on my Chromebook. I have had the same issue. I am able to log into my account (as an admin) when connected to the Google network, but when I try to log in from another network or when I'm not connected to the Google network, I get a "You are not authorized to view this information" message. I know my password is correct and I have full admin rights. I have already tried to change the password and log in, but the message still shows. My account is a student account.

When you get that message, you have to turn off security settings. Go to the settings icon. Then go to the security settings and uncheck the lock.

To turn off security settings, go to the settings icon and look for security settings. Click on that and then uncheck the box that says "Allow security settings". This will unlock your Chromebook.
